What you'll do

This professional will provide employment law advice and manage employment disputes globally. The role will also support the corporate compliance function including by managing the whistleblower hotline, investigating complaints, assisting with employee-training programs, and developing policies and procedures. This Director-level position reports to the General Counsel.

Job Duties:

  • Resolve employment litigation, arbitrations, agency charges, and other disputes, working with outside counsel globally and managing spend effectively
  • Provide advice and counsel on a broad range of employment-law issues globally (including employee and union relations, policies, reorganizations, and contractor agreements)
  • With the support of local outside counsel, develop legal employment templates including employment and termination agreements worldwide
  • Manage whistleblower hotline
  • Depending on the type of investigation, lead or provide advice and support on internal investigations
  • Respond to third-party subpoenas and other legal requests for HR data
What qualifications will you need to be successful?

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited U.S. law school or foreign equivalent degree (e.g., BCL, LLB, or LLL)
  • License in good standing to practice employment law in the jurisdiction in which the role is located
  • At least 8 years of employment-law experience, with multi-country experience including in the U.S. strongly preferred
  • Self-starter who works collaboratively and is able to work with a matrixed team of worldwide HR, legal, and business partners
  • Experience working in a regional employment legal role and on HR matters across multiple jurisdictions, with the ability to identify issues and manage matters independently with minimal supervision
  • In-house and corporate compliance experience and familiarity with Serengeti desirable but not required
  • Flexibly willing to work across different time zones and travel when necessary
  • Well organized and dependable with attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
  • Write and speak clearly and effectively (fluent English required, multiple languages preferred)
  • Sound judgment with resolute integrity
  • Extraordinary sense of humor
