Role Summary
Responsible for monitoring all aspects of the daily shipping schedules. Coordinates all processing for shipments to and from customers. Provide Customer Service support as required. Responsible for ensuring cycle counts are being completed accurately. Compiles information and maintains inventory and production records for items used to support production, including raw materials, components, WIP and finished products. All aspects & functions involved in the application of shipping and activities and techniques of maintaining inventory control to support production.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Obtain planning and shipment releases from the customer via EDI, phone, e-mail and fax.
⦁ Direct communication with customers regarding changes, immediate requirements, and packaging.
⦁ Advise the appropriate department of any major changes.
⦁ Work closely with other departments and advise of short notice increases or reductions.
⦁ Prepares incoming and outgoing shippers.
⦁ Works closely with customers to coordinate timely delivery of parts utilizing releases and or verbal request.
⦁ Works closely with scheduling, manufacturing, and productions supervisors to coordinate and adjust production schedule based on changes in customer releases.
⦁ Reviews weekly releases to determine when service orders are due and coordinates with scheduling for production of parts.
⦁ Schedule trucks for internal requirements regarding tooling, proto-types, and equipment moves.
⦁ Input manual releases into CMS.
⦁ Prints pick sheets and customer barcode labels for the shipping dock.
⦁ Works directly with other departments to ensure readiness for shipments.
⦁ Manages all customer web-based applications daily per customer requirements.
⦁ Work with customers on dunnage and returning dunnage to be repaired.
⦁ Must maintain accurate inventory for finished goods, WIP, outside process, packaging, quality hold and raw stock on a daily basis, through cycle counting.
⦁ Compares actual inventories to perpetual computer records and computes figures from records such as shipment history, production records, purchased receipts, physical counts and location transfers to obtain accurate inventory.
⦁ Verifies clerical and computer computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
⦁ Writes and distributes production and inventory reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed by production and inventory reporting activities.
⦁ Coordinates fiscal year end physical inventory, month end inventory close and periodic cycle count inventory functions.
⦁ Maintains inventory accuracy of 99% by making corrections to production data and adjusting inventory when necessary.
⦁ Responsible for balancing all cycle counts to perpetual inventory records. Rectifying discrepancies, by determining root cause and implement corrective action as necessary.
⦁ Provides training on goods issued/receipt transactions etc. in MRP (CMS) system
⦁ Responsible for material handling including work center, all storage locations and warehouse.
⦁ Coordinates inventory cycle counts and physical inventories as needed.
⦁ Leads A3 meetings and champions corrective actions for the Inventory.
⦁ Leader for Pull System for manufacturing.
⦁ Performs as the Inventory Control Lead for MAFACT and 5S.
⦁ Assure all safety, quality, delivery, cost, environmental, production throughput and budget practices, objectives and improvements are met. Responsible for creating KMI reports for those that fall under job scope.
⦁ Runs and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly, manufacturing reports. Ensures daily reports are run by the end of the shift.
⦁ Performs Layered Process Audits (LPA's).
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Associate degree from two-year college; or two to four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of automotive experience with computer reporting and data entry.
Additional Information
Language Skills: Requires ability to speak, read and write in English . Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals . Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
Computer Skills: T o perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Prior experience utilizing AS400 Database software (CMS) and ability to create spreadsheets. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing along with DDL, SMART, GM Supply Power, CMS,AS400, Outlook and Excel
