Job Description

The Comparator Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager US is responsible for identifying innovative and competitive sourcing solutions and for supporting the development of relationships with strategic suppliers, manufacturers and networks of wholesalers. Part of a team including subject matter experts engaged with client, and market analysts collecting market data, the post holder will play a key role in bridging the gap between commercial and clinical supply chain.

Being a real team player, the individual will:

- convey the voice of client to the suppliers in order to explain clinical supplies constraints, subsequently delivering actionable sourcing solutions fitting customer needs

- convey the voice of suppliers to the Program managers and help to manage customer expectations

- collaborate with Market analysts to make sure the current and relevant market information can be centralized and relayed internally

Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing

  • Responsible for the mapping of the US sourcing solution/strategy in collaboration with comparator sourcing and market intelligence teams for identified products.
  • Responsible for reinforcing supplier base of authorized US distributors for identified drugs.
  • Responsible for penetrating and navigating manufacturer's organizations to position Thermofisher as distributor for clinical supplies.
  • Responsible for generating new supplier contracts and develop good and long-standing strategic supplier relationship with pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers, develop trust with partners over time.
  • Managing of existing supplier accounts to have access to drugs at competitive prices, with attractive shelf life and necessary documentation, in a reliable and responsive manner.
  • Negotiate competitive Supply Agreements and / or Purchasing Terms & Conditions, inclusive attractive prices and volume / cash discount.
  • Perform supplier benchmarking, satisfaction rating and any other analysis, SWOT or other as appropriate together with the Comparator Sourcing team.
  • Participate to Supplier's Business review meetings and collaborate on opportunities for improvement.
  • Manages optimized sourcing solutions including risk mitigation the support for Comparator PM in their projects, and take part in TC and negotiation to ensure closure / win of proposals as needed.
  • Communicate up to date information to Market analysts to ensure that the team has access to latest picture of the market for specific drugs and supply chains.
  • Support/lead new services development in close collaboration with Program Managers, including development of value propositions and supportive communication material



Quality and compliance

  • Apply Good Distribution / Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.
  • Product recall, support QA and client in case of product recalls.
  • Ensure compliance to all FCS's rules and regulations as much from QA, legal and finance. Support keep them meaningful and adapted to our changing environment.



Others

  • Active part in Practical Process Improvement & Just-Do-It, lean and other improvement projects.
  • Contribute in the recruitment, on boarding, training and development of employees
  • Demonstrate and drive the Thermo Fisher values - Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I's)



Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Pharmaceutical or Business fields, or related fields with 10+ years of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10+ Years Minimum Experience within Pharmaceutical Industry or equivalent preferred
  • Organizational Skill Set
  • Proficiencies with MS Office / Adobe Products
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and business acumen
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and exercises good judgment and appropriate discretion when reaching conclusions.
  • Familiarity with commercial supply chain of pharmaceuticals of advantage
  • Familiarity or experience in Market access function
  • Experience in pharmaceutical R&D, and in clinical pharmaceutical supply chain of advantage



Preferred Qualifications:

  • High Level of Business Acumen in both Administration and Business Strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of the Global Comparator Business
