Position Summary

Marqeta is looking for a dynamic individual to join the North America Go-To-Market team to build strong strategic relationships and drive operational initiatives across our domestic bank partners. The Bank Partner Strategy & Operations Manager is integral to the overall success of Marqeta and our customers as our bank partners are strategic enablers to Marqeta’s growth.

In addition to working closely with external partners, you will be collaborating closely with the extended Marqeta team, including Business Development, Customer Success, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Technology. A strong understanding of payments and the banking landscape will allow you to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

What you'll do

This role is about optimizing support and strengthening relationships between Marqeta and key stakeholders, both externally (our partners) and internally.

  • Partnerships:
    • Managing relationships with key Marqeta Bank Partners, including prioritizing efforts and collaborating across teams
    • Ability to prioritize strategic bank partner initiatives with daily issues/escalations
    • An understanding of the banking landscape, and ability to interact with key bank stakeholders to develop and document customer solutions, including Legal, Compliance and Risk teams
    • Gathering, organizing, and presenting KPI data on partners to provide Executive Leadership with clear pictures into relationship status and partnership value
    • Developing and driving new/improved processes, communication, and influence between Marqeta and our partners to enable efficiency
  • Internal Stakeholders:
    • Acting as a liaison between your partners and internal Marqeta teams 
    • Providing support for team members in connection with banks, networks and/or other partners 
    • The ability to articulate Bank requirements with internal Marqeta stakeholders in order to educate and train on the current landscape

Additionally, you'll be responsible for:

  • Driving cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure Marqeta is staying ahead in the industry and with our competition 
  • Updating and maintaining document repositories, assisting with training documentation for Delivery teams, Business Development, and Customer Success
  • Managing, combining, and prioritizing support requests as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years experience in client- or partner-facing roles (e.g. account/partner management, onboarding/implementations) with additional experience in product management, development, and operations a plus
  • Payments experience is preferred
  • Ownership/accountability for assigned tasks, an ownership mentality
  • Ability to prioritize with direction and manage multiple projects to completion
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality deliverables
  • Solid communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written)
  • Ability to travel occasionally, 10-20%
