About the job
The Red Hat North America Public Sector team is looking for an Associate Manager, Professional Development Manager to join the Red Hat Consultant Excellence Program (CEP). In this role, you will support a program that guides consultants to be successful in the field and at Red Hat. As you provide mentorship, advocacy, and leadership to consultants, your efforts will have an organizational impact as you support consultants throughout their career development. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Contribute to and refine programmatic efforts supporting the CEP as it continues to grow
  • Improve and revise program content and processes
  • Support Red Hat Consulting recruitment and interviewing activities
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to expand and enhance the programmatic ties
  • Promote practices and processes developed in the program to the larger Red Hat Consulting teams
  • Be an ambassador of the Red Hat culture
  • Assume people management responsibilities for ~18 associates
  • Provide career path and promotion guidance
  • Encourage training and professional development
  • Be the voice of Red Hat goals and objectives
  • Gather and provide regular feedback on what is working well and areas of improvement
  • Provide recognition for achievements and milestones
  • Address performance or behavior challenges as necessary
  • Hold recurring 1:1 discussions and ad-hoc meetings to ensure associates have the support and guidance they need to succeed
  • Manage the on-boarding of new Red Hat Consulting associates into the program
  • Work with the Resource Management Office (RMO) and other Services Managers on identifying projects that associates can be assigned to


What you will bring

  • Solid interest and experience performing people management activities
  • Experience running associate on-boarding activities
  • Understanding of the technical consulting ecosystem and business model
  • Proven ability to work on your own, navigate a complex environment, and carry out plans with excellence in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time and workload management skills; ability to prioritize
  • Ability to deliver powerful messages in a professional work environment to all levels of Red Hat associates
  • Knowledge of technical and software concepts
  • Very personable and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable with working in and with a distributed team and willingness for periodic travel in line with Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Passion for providing mentorship and leadership to others
  • Solid ability to take initiative and create, lead, and sustain program initiatives
