What you will do

The Associate Manager, Field Operations will manage and lead all activities of the HUB/Branch operation in compliance to corporate objectives, policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position has responsibilities to be the liaison between the field sales team for the area covered and the office while coordinating activities relating to Operations, Inventory Management, Inventory Requirements Planning, and other related leadership function.

Leading the activities of a diverse group of individuals to ensure team goals are met. This could include additional locations other than the main HUB/Branch assigned.

Collaborate with Sales Manager and Sales Representatives to ensure understanding and impact of HUB/Branch policies and procedures.

  • Resolution of field representative, sales managers and/or customer concerns or complaints to resolve inventory issues
  • A high degree of initiative and self-motivation is needed to meet continuously changing priorities.
  • Manage inventory levels (both implants and instruments) to meet the needs of the territory while adhering to company days on hand and turn objectives.
  • Developing inventory management strategies with sales to ensure alignment of inventory utilization
  • Controlling inventory using available system tools to ensure accuracy for implants (part and lot number level) and instrument sets (set and lot number level) in hospital consignments, and in HUB/Branch/Storage locations
  • Ensuring Sales Manager and Sales Representatives are aligned to the key metrics that drive the operations of the HUB/Branch
  • Understanding and following FDA processes and procedures within the HUB
  • Responsible for managing vehicle/FLEET maintenance
  • Manage forecast and Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the facility including bill management and facility contracts
  • Responsible for managing remote locations and employees, when applicable
  • Manage team sizes of 8+ people and/or multiple locations or drop-sites
  • Manage the performance of non-exempt/exempt team members, to include:
  • writing and delivering performance appraisals
  • administering disciplinary action when warranted
  • providing positive recognition when warranted
  • liaising with Human Resources to ensure consistency in administration and compliance with Company policies.
  • focusing on the development of high potential employees.
  • Hire/Manage /coach/mentor/develop non-exempt team members to encourage and support a high-performance work culture.
  • Ensure all employees are provided with proper training and development. Monitor and drive timely training completion.
  • Manage non-exempt timekeeping and monitor employee attendance (e.g., start time, breaks, etc.) via Workday. Manage employee vacation schedules and coordinate work schedules around quarterly meetings, planned vacation, etc. to ensure customer needs will be met.
  • Monitor and ensure proper staffing levels are maintained and produce contingency plans for coverage in times of high volume, heavy employee vacation periods, etc. When needed, this will include directing the work of any assigned temporary staff and other associated responsibilities.


What you will need

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 6 years of equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 6+ years' experience required; experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, or similar fields preferred.


Additionally, you will need

  • Experience managing, leading, and directing teams.
  • Understanding of financial statements and financial management concepts, strong analytical and planning skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, thorough understanding of business terminology and proficiency in office software applications are all required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be motivated, proactive, customer service oriented and have ability to work towards the common goal of the team.
  • Knowledge and skill with JD Edwards (ERP systems) is a plus
  • A high degree of initiative and self-motivation is needed to meet continuously changing priorities.
