This role is responsible for overseeing and managing daily business operations to ensure efficiency, quality, accuracy, customer service, and cost effectiveness. The underwriting/operations manager plays a critical role and is responsible for assisting with the managing of underwriting operations, policy execution, developing, implementing, and improving operational policies and procedures and workflows for the Public Auto Department. This position also manages the Policy Services Department which is responsible for all policy related functions. Ensure internal and external compliance with our company policies, carrier underwriting authority, guidelines and regulatory requirements, maintain operational quality controls.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide effective leadership that ensures that the business objectives are met.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
2. Five years of experience in underwriting and marketing of new accounts
3. Must be licensed in corresponding areas of insurance
4. Good interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate and influence at all levels
5. Clear and consistent leadership of staff
6. Concentrate on the development of a strong and profitable branch office
7. Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
8. Ability to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated
9. Recognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry and be able to incorporate that into your strategy
10. Abilities must include preparing submissions for markets and securing quotes
11. Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agencies
12. Must possess and maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry
13. Good written and verbal skills
14. Maintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new business
15. Ability to work extended hours when necessary
