The Role
About the role

We're on the lookout for an Operations Specialist to join Thatch. This role is vital for our company — you'll spearhead the operational process of streamlining enrollments and payments of Thatch members to national insurance carriers in cases where we’ve not yet built automation. As an early member of this team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assist with manual enrollments, interact with our Engineering team to build new operational features, engage with customers and build relationships with our carrier partners and vendors. This role entails consistent communication with customers, external partners, health insurance companies, and nearly every internal Thatch team.

The ideal candidate will be extremely action-oriented, constantly looking for ways to improve processes, and able to operate independently in a continuously evolving environment. The candidate should be comfortable being uncomfortable. There are constantly new challenges arising and the candidate should be comfortable in an environment where they will need to gather and learn information independently.

What you'll do
  • Build out and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our internal Operations team while managing a queue of enrollment and payment tasks from Thatch to insurance carriers.
  • Engage with Engineering and Operations teams to build internal and external tools that improve operational efficiency as we scale, working with vendors and carriers to develop new operational models.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams including Sales, Support, and Advising to create solutions that address distinct customer needs and operational challenges.
  • Balance strategic projects and responsibilities necessary to develop the operations function with ongoing customer needs, ensuring seamless service delivery during periods of growth.
  • Learn new things quickly and adapt to new processes often as we refine our workflows, introducing novel automation to the ICHRA space and staying agile in a fast-evolving environment.

  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with the hiring manager to work through a live case study
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles
