Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers, don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas—they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

We’re hiring an Operations Manager [internally referred to as Pod Leader] to guide, support, and coach a portfolio of client-facing Divers - professionals who are embedded with global clients and trusted to deliver with excellence every day. As the direct manager of approximately 60 Divers, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping their experience at Oceans, helping them thrive in their roles while aligning with our values, standards, and long-term vision.

This is a high-accountability people management role ideal for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, strong business judgment, and a genuine commitment to talent development.

Accountability

As an Operations Manager, your success will be measured by Diver performance, retention, and engagement. From leading fortnightly check-ins to collaborating with stakeholders on integration and performance management, you’ll act as the steady hand behind every Diver’s growth journey. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Diver Experience & Engagement
  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins to monitor Diver satisfaction and professional well-being.
  • Identify trends in attrition or disengagement and take proactive steps to intervene early.
  • Address grievances with empathy and clarity, escalating when appropriate and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Oversee time-off requests and ensure Divers operate with confidence, clarity, and support.
Performance Management
  • Provide consistent performance guidance and direction to Divers, ensuring they meet client expectations.
  • Partner with Training, Integration, and Client Success teams to close performance gaps and enable success.
  • Drive the review process by ensuring feedback is timely, actionable, and growth-focused.
  • Celebrate high performers and help build a high-accountability culture across your Pod.
Career Development & Growth
  • Work with the Training and HR teams to define skill development pathways and facilitate mid-career upskilling.
  • Analyze training participation and impact to ensure every Diver has the tools to grow.
  • Act as the voice of your Divers in internal planning conversations, ensuring their growth remains a priority.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Integration Success and Client Success to deliver seamless onboarding and transitions.
  • In certain accounts, work with Sales teams to align Diver management with expansion opportunities.
  • Provide insights to stakeholders about Diver sentiment, retention, and performance risks.
Colleagues

Your primary partners will be the Divers themselves. Internally, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the Training, HR, Integration Success, and Client Success teams to ensure each Diver has the support they need to succeed. You’ll also coordinate with Sales when account expansion opportunities arise.

While working cross functionally, this role will report directly to your respective Fleet Lead, who will support your leadership development and strategic contribution to our talent model.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals - those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As an Operations Manager, your vertical focus will be leading and managing people - especially in client-facing, fast-paced environments. Your horizontal range may include understanding business strategy, global operations, training, and employee experience.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal ability.
  • People Leadership: Experience managing a team (ideally 10+ direct reports) with a focus on accountability, growth, and retention.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and client priorities, and how talent success contributes to company success.
  • Coaching Mindset: Ability to mentor and support individuals through performance and career transitions.
  • Problem Solving: Calm and thoughtful approach to issue resolution—balancing empathy with business needs.
  • Systems Comfort: Confidence using tools like Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana to manage tasks, people, and reporting.
  • Global Talent Experience: Prior experience supporting or managing international teams is a strong asset.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Leading through People: Have you led a team toward shared goals and consistent performance?
  • Growth Mindset: Have you helped a team evolve and grow - not just execute?
  • Planning & Prioritization: How do you define goals, allocate resources, and keep work on track?
  • Business Acumen: Are you aware of key business issues and how your team impacts the bigger picture?
  • Collaboration: How do you manage cross-functional relationships and stakeholder dynamics?
Role Specifications

This is a hybrid role. Operations Managers are expected to be in-person approximately 1–2 days per week. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, while providing an opportunity to update our understanding of both market and individual factors.
