About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing and test engineers and drive operational excellence across production assembly and test processes. This role is responsible for team development, continuous improvement, manufacturing and test process optimization, and ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

What you will do:
  • Develop, lead, and manage a staff of manufacturing and test engineers.

  • Develop, improve, and validate testing processes for existing and new products according to LEAN Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing principles.

  • Develop relevant capital plans and drive continuous improvement activities to improve the productivity of the operations (assembly and test). 

  • Plan and execute department budget

  • Support customers and suppliers in process related matters as required to fulfill the needs of the organization

What you will need:
  • Excellent people, time management, and project management skills

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate engineers to perform beyond their comfort zone

  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and formal problem solving tools

  • Significant understanding of production processes for electronics controllers and electromechanical actuators assembly and test in industrial and aero environment (preferable high mix, low volume)

  • Understanding of EOL test designs and programing.

  • Experience with production transfers between sites will be a plus.

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial or test engineering and minimum 3 years of leadership experience.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial or test engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and formal problem solving tools
  • Significant understanding of production processes for electronics controllers and electromechanical actuators assembly and test in industrial and aero environments
