The Operations & Business Development Manager – Medical Tourism will oversee the daily operations of the Tanzania branch while driving business growth and patient acquisition for international medical treatment services, primarily in India. The role involves coordinating patient treatment journeys, managing relationships with hospitals and healthcare providers, and ensuring seamless communication between Tanzanian patients and the India head office. The ideal candidate will combine strong healthcare coordination experience with business development and networking capabilities to expand the company’s market presence and deliver excellent patient service.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Tanzania branch office.
- Coordinate with the India head office on treatment planning and patient case management.
- Assist patients with consultations, visa processing, travel, accommodation, hospital appointments, and follow-ups.
- Ensure smooth communication between patients, hospitals, doctors, and coordination teams.
- Maintain patient records, medical reports, and coordination documentation confidentially.
- Support patients and attendants before, during, and after treatment abroad.
- Build relationships with hospitals, clinics, doctors, insurance companies, NGOs, and referral partners.
- Generate patient referrals for international treatment services.
- Conduct awareness programs, healthcare seminars, hospital visits, and promotional activities.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly patient acquisition and revenue targets.
- Prepare business development and market feedback reports.
- Coordinate with partner hospitals and specialist doctors in India for treatment plans and cost estimates.
- Provide timely updates on patient travel, admissions, procedures, discharge, and recovery plans.
- Ensure high standards of patient satisfaction and service delivery.
- Identify new business opportunities and strategic healthcare partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Medical Sciences, Nursing, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in medical tourism, hospital operations, international patient coordination, healthcare marketing, or healthcare business development.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
- Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent networking and business development abilities.
- Good understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
- Ability to work independently and achieve business targets.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, email communication, and reporting tools.
- Professional presentation and client-handling skills.
- Experience working with international hospitals or medical tourism companies is an added advantage.
- Existing network within hospitals, clinics, or healthcare providers in Tanzania is preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian healthcare systems and services is an added advantage.
- Experience in patient counseling and treatment coordination is preferred.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.
