JOB SUMMARY

The Opening Services Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of hotel opening projects, including new construction, conversions, and rebranding initiatives. This role partners closely with franchise owners, management companies, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure properties open on time and are positioned for long-term success.

The ideal candidate is a proactive project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong relationships, solves complex challenges, and successfully manages multiple projects simultaneously.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of hotel opening projects from onboarding through opening.

  • Develop project plans, monitor key milestones, and drive successful project execution.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for franchise owners and management companies throughout the opening process.

  • Partner with internal teams including Operations, Legal, Procurement, Design, Franchise Performance, and Technology to support project completion.

  • Identify project risks, resolve obstacles, and recommend solutions to keep projects on track.

  • Coordinate property activation, opening requirements, inspections, and related documentation.

  • Maintain accurate project information and status updates within Salesforce and other company systems.

  • Provide regular reporting on project progress, key milestones, and opening forecasts.

  • Support initiatives that help achieve company growth and opening targets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • 3-5 years of project management, hospitality, franchise operations, hotel development, or related experience.

  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospitality, franchising, hotel operations, or hotel development experience.

  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM/project management platforms.

  • Experience supporting property openings, conversions, or large-scale operational projects.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $65,698 - $77,292. Pay ranges listed are what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. Actual pay may be higher or lower and ranges may be adjusted in the future. Pay positioning within the range is influenced by factors including—but not limited to—education, experience, skills, certifications, performance, geographic location, business needs, seniority, and travel requirements.

WORK LOCATION & HYBRID SCHEDULE

This position is based at Choice Hotels International's corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland. Associates follow a hybrid work schedule, working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
