Position Summary
Samsung Open Innovation group in Herzliya is looking for an Open Innovation Manager for searching and sourcing new technologies (HW and SW).This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven, self-starter to play a key role in the establishments of strategic relationships with industry and universities for the research labs at Samsung.
In this role you will meet with various companies and researchers to assess their technical and business potential, and create partnership models for Samsung with strategic understanding of market and technical trends of the industry.
Role and Responsibilities
- Search for disruptive companies and academic researchers in Israel, in a variety of areas related to Samsung Electronics, for potential R&D partnerships and collaboration.
- Support Samsung Electronics HQ (Korea) with technology sourcing, gathering and analyzing data to provide insight and strategy.
- Perform initial evaluation of the technology and its usability, and conclude its potential technological value.
- Introduce the solution to Samsung Research R&D and Open Innovation teams.
- Provide HQ with frequent technology trends reports, per the relevant area / theme of interest.
- Build strong relationships with start-ups in the relevant fields.
- Facilitate and support communication between teams located at Samsung Korea and local technology partners
- Write comprehensive in-depth technology theme report, technology trends insights reports on a weekly, and monthly basis and share it with top management.
Skills and Qualifications
• Proven experience of 5-10 years in one or more of the following:
- Theoretical and/or hands-on expertise in the areas of interest both from the electronic components & S/W algorithms.
- Experience in deep technology due diligence processes and establishments of strategic collaboration partnerships with companies
- Experience and strong professional skills in generating in-depth technology theme reports (methodology, professional presentation)
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment; must be able to handle multiple projects and competing priorities and effectively accomplish objectives
- Team player with a can-do attitude, self-motivated, high-energy professional with strong technological background.
- Good acquaintance with the Israeli high-tech and the academia ecosystem
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing) - Mandatory
- Experience working with multinational corporates – Advantage
