The Onsite Solutions Specialist is a staff position that provides technical support assisting end-users with their day-to-day technical issues and support for our project-related tasks that require an onsite presence.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Under limited supervision, provide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution to customer end-users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions in person at a client site or, occasionally, in a call center environment.
  • Acts as an onsite representative for Navanta to end-users for tasks requiring an in-person presence.
  • Performing assigned onsite tasks, interacting in a personable fashion with end-users, relaying discovered issues onsite to the appropriate parties within Navanta to ensure a ticket is created and the issue is being addressed, and providing technical assistance, when necessary.
  • Communicate all aspects of the onsite project, experience, and interaction with the senior technician, supervisor, manager, or project manager sponsoring the project.
  • Assist less experienced technicians with technical problems they encounter.
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner and assist junior technicians in doing the same.
  • Follow defined procedures and policies to resolve recurring tasks.
  • Involve senior technicians/management on more sensitive or complex end-user problems.
  • Perform related work as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment (both internally/externally) and travels in an automobile (or possibly an airplane). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and copy machines. This role routinely operates a company motor vehicle. Use of personal phone through Multi-factor authentication is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will frequently drive for long distances and stay overnight in rented motels/hotel rooms. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are variable and will frequently include evening, overnight, or weekend work. 


Travel

Frequent and extended travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Advanced understanding of desktop operating systems, various software applications, and PC/Server/Network hardware.
  • Intermediate understanding of principles and theories of network systems and management.
  • Advanced understanding of Internet technologies and products.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety procedures.
  • At least two years of technical work experience or equivalent education.
  • At least two relevant technical certifications (e.g. A+, Network+ and Security+) or equivalent experience.
  • A demonstrated propensity towards and proficiency with customer end-user interaction.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate’s (or higher) degree in a computer science-related field.
  • Four or more years of technical work experience.
  • Four or more relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, and Security+).
