ChristianaCare General Surgery at Elkton is located at 137 West High Street in Elkton, Maryland. Our General Surgery team has the experience and expertise to give our patients that confidence, that they will have a successful surgery and get back to their lives as quickly as possible.

Our board-certified surgeons are here to partner with the community for their surgical needs. General surgeons treat a broad range of illnesses and injuries affecting the abdomen, breast, skin and soft tissue, endocrine system, and digestive tract.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
     

Duties / Responsibilities:
As a Medical Office Assistant I, you will be involved with scheduling appointments, interacting with patients professionally, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Collecting demographic and financial information, processing referrals, and verifying insurance reimbursement eligibility. An office assistant will be involved in day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received. You will need to answer phone calls professionally, relays messages to providers, and communicates with providers and staff through electronic medical records (EMR). You will keep patients informed about issues and facilitate tests, labs, and appointments. An office assistant prepares medical records, research issues, and respond to patients professionally. Assist with administrative tasks and adhere to departmental safety rules.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.

  • Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred but not required.

  • Experience in a medical office setting or customer service environment is preferred but not required.

You must possess strong attention to detail, adaptability, excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Hourly Pay Range: $17.32 - $25.12This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
