Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Nurse Implementation and Optimization Specialist will support implementation efforts related to new ER and urgent care facilities opening in partnership with leading healthcare systems. Expert clinical- operational knowledge as well as strong relational skills are required. This is a highly interactive position working with many functional areas. Must have strong emergency room operations knowledge & learning ability to be able to affect the behavior of the clinical staff while supporting the adoption of the Intuitive operating model.

Location: Remote

Travel Requirements: Multi-state travel required. Rotational Schedule: 4 days on-site at new facility locations, 4 days off duty.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for support, management, and execution of a wide scope of operational nursing and clinical processes and workflows as it relates to new facility openings and process improvement projects.
  • Provides detailed notes from observations, recommends solutions to problems and helps to drive performance improvement while working with facility staff and providers.
  • Troubleshoot with and for onsite staff to remove operational obstacles.
  • Provide coaching and encouragement to site level nursing staff using the Intuitive Operating Model Guide.
  • Elevate operational issues to Center Leadership and VP of Implementations. Wherever possible, include recommended solutions along with issues.
  • Communicate performance of new site operations status to key stakeholders, including Health System Leadership and Intuitive Health senior management.
  • Conduct post implementation analysis and create recommendations based on lessons learned.
  • Take a lead role in the pre-opening training for staff, “Day in the Life”.
  • Lead teams during operational efficiency “Deep Dive” projects onsite, identifying operational issues, propose solutions and assist staff with implementation and tracking of changes.
  • Design, develop, and present engaging educational materials and presentations to support training and implementation initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN, BSN, or MSN.
  • Unrestricted registered nurse license
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS/ENPC certification
  • Current BLS
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, at least 3 years ER
  • Freestanding ER and urgent care experience preferred
  • Well versed in point of care laboratory testing, ED radiology testing and modalities.
  • Experience in ED flow management
  • ER Clinical Manager, Charge Nurse or other applicable leadership experience a plus.
  • Relevant Intuitive Health experience may be considered in lieu of certain experience requirements with the recommendation of the candidate’s direct supervisor. Internal candidates must meet the requirements of the Employee Transfer Policy, be in good standing, and demonstrate strong performance in their current role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Healthcare setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally challenging situations.
  • May be required to work extended shifts, weekends, holidays, or on-call rotations.
  • Travel between facilities may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout clinical facilities for extended periods while observing operations and conducting training.
  • Occasionally required to lift or carry training materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills to observe clinical workflows and effectively train and coach staff.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environments.
