Role
We are seeking a meticulous and service-focused Night Manager to oversee Amangalla’s operations during night hours. Based in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Galle, this role is pivotal in maintaining continuity of service, guest wellbeing, and operational excellence overnight. Reporting to the rooms Division Manager, the Night Manager acts as the senior leader on duty during the night shift, ensuring accuracy of reporting, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all hotel operations during the night, ensuring the security and wellbeing of guests and colleagues.
- Review arrival reports for the coming week and prepare a nightly occupancy forecast.
- Cross-check guest profiles and reservation correspondence to ensure accuracy and alignment with preferences.
- Conduct data quality checks in Opera and ensure guest profiles are up to date and complete.
- Review daily Front Office reports and prepare an overnight briefing document for the Rooms Division Manager.
- Monitor the accuracy of guest folios, billing instructions, and payment records.
- Assist in the preparation of nightly revenue reports and contribute to month-end reporting procedures.
- Validate and compile guest satisfaction data including TrustYou and internal feedback for morning review.
- Ensure all night shift documentation and checklists are completed thoroughly.
- Take briefings and supervise night shift team members including Butlers, Receptionists, and Security.
- Oversee vehicle arrangements for the following day, ensuring alignment with guest itineraries.
- Monitor security and safety protocols, liaising with night security and maintaining the incident log.
- Respond to late-night guest requests and resolve concerns with discretion and professionalism.
- Ensure the readiness of public areas and guest arrival spaces for the morning shift.
- Maintain effective handover communication with the team each morning.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Front Office or Night Audit roles within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Strong knowledge of Opera PMS and understanding of front office operations and audit procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- High attention to detail, especially with guest records, billing, and reporting.
- Calm, composed approach with strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
- Leadership presence and confidence in supervising night teams and coordinating departments.
- Must have the legal right to work in Sri Lanka.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management is preferred.
