SUMMARY
We are looking for a technically strong Team Lead to head our Philippines-based NOC team as part of a follow-the-sun operating model. This is a hands-on, working lead role; you will carry a technical workload alongside your leadership responsibilities. You set the standard by doing, not by directing.
You will be the senior technical presence on shift, the first escalation point for your team, and the local point of contact for the Head of NOC in the UK. If you are more comfortable with a keyboard than in a meeting room and want to lead a team without leaving the technical work behind, this role is designed for you.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the Philippines shift, own workload distribution, queue management, and team performance during your working hours.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point, take ownership of complex P1 and P2 incidents and drive them to resolution.
  • Apply and enforce company NOC standards, structured ticket updates, correct incident prioritization, and change request discipline.
  • Own shift handover, ensure incoming engineers are briefed and every in-flight incident has a clear next step documented.
  • Develop the team around you, mentor engineers on the job, identify skill gaps, and support the structured onboarding programme.
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews and root cause analysis.
  • Escalate appropriately to the Head of NOC, with a clear situation summary, actions taken, and a specific ask.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Network & Security track
  • BGP and WAN routing: peer state diagnosis, route advertisement, and path selection.
  • Juniper EX switching and SRX firewalls: CLI, VLANs, security policy, and zone management.
  • IPsec VP: IKE Phase 1/2 diagnosis and tunnel re-establishment.
  • Cross-connects and Equinix ECX Fabric: physical and logical layers.
  • DDoS mitigation concepts and escalation.
  • iptables/nftables and virtual firewalls (vSRX, FortiGate-VM, pfSense).
  • Linux & Virtualization track
  • Linux administration: Ubuntu and RHEL, system health, performance diagnosis, and log analysis.
  • OpenNebula: VM management and host-level diagnosis.
  • VMware vSphere: ESXi and vCenter, VM lifecycle operations.
  • Bash scripting (essential) and Python scripting (preferred).
  • IPsec VPN on Linux: StrongSwan, LibreSwan.
  • Virtual firewall deployment and management on hypervisors.
  • Required across both tracks
  • TCP/IP and OSI model: structured fault isolation from the bottom up.
  • Network monitoring platforms: alerting, triage, suppression, and escalation.
  • ITIL-aligned incident and change management: applied, not just theoretical.
  • Structured ticket discipline: clear, accurate, and auditable updates.
  • Strong written English: able to produce customer-facing updates and escalation briefs under pressure.
  • NOC, network operations, or Linux infrastructure experience.
  • Senior or lead capacity; shift lead, technical lead, or team lead.
  • Deep hands-on experience in either technical track defined above.
  • Working knowledge of the complementary technical track.
  • Financial services, MSP, or co-location environment experience.
  • Nice to have
  • ITIL Foundation or demonstrable applied ITIL knowledge.
  • Vendor certification in the primary track (JNCIA/JNCIS, CCNA/CCNP, RHCSA, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with trading infrastructure and market session awareness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
  • Should be amenable to a permanent mid-shift schedule.
