The Network Engineer is responsible for support of networks globally. Communication across teams and disciplines is critical to this role. This position will promote and implement Danaher network standards, policies and procedures as well as resolve technical issues raised from our network operations team. A strong candidate will have excellent technical network skills. They will also be comfortable working with associates and leaders in other roles such as Facilities, Accounting and Human Resources.
This position reports to the Director of Network Engineering and is part of the Danaher Global Infrastructure team located in the Netherlands and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
· Support the growth of colocation offices globally while also deploying and maintaining local and wide area networks for Danaher or its operating companies.
· Maintain accurate network documentation
· Research and recommend improvements to the production network.
· Provide tier 3 escalation for troubleshooting complex network issues and participate in tier 3 ‘on call’ rotations with other network team members.
· Interact on a regular basis with other members of the global network team.
The essential requirements of the job include:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 6+ years
· Excellent written and spoken English
· Experience with routing protocols and topologies (BGP, OSPF, VRF) and VPN technologies (IPSec, GRE, DMVPN, DTLS)
· Extensive experience with Cisco wireless solutions, Cisco catalyst and nexus switches, Cisco IOS and IOS-XE routers
· Experience with firewalls (ASA, Palo, Zscaler) as well as experience with authentication protocols and implementations. (ISE, TACACS, RADIUS, 802.1x)
Travel Requirements:
· This Role may require up to 15% travel, including occasional international trips.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
· Viptela or SilverPeak SD-WAN
· Aruba and Mist Wireless, F5 LTM,
· DNS, Scripting with Bash or Python, SAML
· VMWare, Nutanix, Linux, AWS, Azure
