About this opportunity:
Design, implement, operate and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and performant connectivity across Ericsson test environment and R&D labs globally. Support projects, changes and incidents; contribute to automation, documentation and continuous improvement.
What you will do:
- Design and upgrade and adapt lab NW framework based on existing and new RAN, security and other requirements
- Deploy, configure and maintain routing, switching, WAN and remote access technologies.
- Support and troubleshoot network incidents (LAN, VPN, EVPN-VxLAN,).
- Implement and maintain network security controls (ACLs, segmentation, VPNs, NAC).
- Participate in network design and change implementations for upgrades, migrations and new services.
- Monitor network health, analyse performance metrics and remediate capacity or stability issues.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, runbooks, SOPs and change records.
- Automate repetitive tasks and manage configurations using IaC or automation tools where applicable.
- Collaborate with security, systems, cloud and application teams; liaise with vendors and service providers.
The skills you bring:
- Routing and switching, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP and layer-2/3 troubleshooting.
- Experience with data centre fabrics (leaf-spine), EVPN/VXLAN.
- IPsec, Security Gateway
- Network services: IPv4/IPv6, NAT, QoS, DHCP, DNS.
- Security: firewall basics, access controls, VPN configurations and segmentation best practices.
- Tools and platforms: experience with one or more major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Extreme Networks, etc.).
- Monitoring and telemetry: SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, basic use of network monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Automation and scripting: basic Python, Bash or templating; familiarity with Ansible, Terraform or similar is a plus.
It's an advantage if you have:
- Cloud networking: AWS/Azure/GCP VPC/VNet, VPN/Direct Connect/ExpressRoute experience.
- Certifications: CCNP/CCNA, JNCIA, Palo Alto/FortiNet, AWS Advanced Networking or similar.
- Experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines or network orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of zero-trust concepts, NAC solutions and advanced security integrations.
Experience and education:
- 3-6 years' hands-on experience in network engineering or operations.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Proven track record of managing network incidents, delivering projects and producing operational documentation.
Behavioural competencies:
- Strong analytical and structured troubleshooting skills.
- Clear communicator; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team player, proactive, detail-oriented and customer-focused.
- Able to work under pressure and participate in an on-call rotation if required.
