Award-winning SriLankan IT team is seeking a dynamic individual to join as a Network Engineer.
The individual is responsible for planning, implementing, operating, securing and continuously improving enterprise network and Internet infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Internet Connectivity, Firewalls, Network Security, Web Hosting and Application Delivery Services. The role is responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, resilience, security and capacity of these services through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, effective incident and problem management, lifecycle planning, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Administer and maintain enterprise firewall and network security infrastructure, including security policies, NAT, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, routing, interfaces, access controls, security profiles, network segmentation and high-availability mechanisms, in accordance with approved security standards and change-control requirements.
- Plan, implement, operate and maintain assigned enterprise network infrastructure and services under established architectural, security and operational standards, including LAN, WAN, Internet connectivity and associated network technologies, ensuring service availability performance, reliability, security, capacity and compliance with organizational requirements and agreed service levels.
- Monitor and analyze network infrastructure performance and availability using approved monitoring and management tools; proactively identify connectivity issues, packet loss, latency, bandwidth utilization, interface errors, device health and performance degradation, and implement timely corrective actions to minimize service disruption.
- Administer and maintain enterprise firewall and network security infrastructure, including security policies, NAT, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, routing, interfaces, access controls, security profiles, network segmentation and high-availability mechanisms, in accordance with approved security standards and change-control requirements.
- Operate and maintain web-hosting and application-delivery infrastructure, including web servers, IIS, application delivery controllers /load balancing, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates and related services, ensuring secure configuration, availability, performance and reliable support for application deployment and production services.
- Coordinate and resolve infrastructure incidents, problems and service requests, including investigation, troubleshooting, escalation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to restore services and minimize recurrence, in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Execute infrastructure changes, upgrades and preventive maintenance, including configuration backups, firmware and software upgrades, security patching, system hardening and approved configuration changes, in accordance with established Change, Incident and Problem Management processes and Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, inventories, standard operating procedures, support records and technical documentation to support operations, audit requirements, knowledge transfer and service continuity.
- Assess infrastructure capacity, performance and technology lifecycle requirements, including bandwidth, interfaces, CPU, memory, storage, connections and sessions; identify capacity constraints, end-of-life/end-of-support risks, technology refresh requirements and opportunities for infrastructure optimization.
- Provide technical support and coordination for infrastructure projects and technology initiatives, including solution design, technical specifications, RFP/PRD preparation, technical evaluations, vendor coordination, implementation, testing, commissioning and post-implementation support.
- Ensure infrastructure resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity readiness, including configuration backups, redundancy, recovery procedures, failover mechanisms, recovery testing and participation in DR/BCP exercises for critical network, firewall, Internet, DNS and hosting services and Ensure network and infrastructure services comply with organizational information-security policies, approved technical standards, audit requirements, applicable regulatory obligations, change-management controls and established governance processes; support internal and external audits and implement agreed corrective actions within defined timelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree *in relevant field from a recognized University with a minimum of 01 year post qualifying Relevant Experience (*Engineering, Computer Science, General Science with Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Applied Statistics etc.)
OR
Full professional qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 07 with 03 years post qualifying experience in a relevant discipline.
The upper age limit should be 35 years as of 05th October 2026, which is the closing date.
Employment will be offered on fixed term contract.
