Operations and provide technical support for the company's internal and external networks by collaborating with internal organizations on business strategies, requirements, design implementation and maintaining the core infrastructure (routers, switches, and firewalls). Responsibilities will also include identifying gaps in infrastructure monitoring, automation and providing recommendations. The individual will be able to analyze design requirements to identify and mitigate risk with integration into production networks.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Performs daily network administrative tasks such as device configurations and troubleshooting customer issues
- Appropriately respond to incident escalations and ensure appropriate follow-up based on severity level
- Collect, analyze, summarize and present network performance and capacity data and trends
- Ensure network and security infrastructure and applications are maintained and patched
- Analyze existing automation scripts and tools for any missing efficiencies or gaps
- Creates, updates and publishes network diagrams and configurations
- Collaborates with Engineering to integrate new network security designs into a production network
- Prepare and present dashboards for tiered support organization including but not limited to, alarm/incident trending, IP/Port/Capacity utilization and
- Independently analyze existing tools for missing efficiencies or gaps and develop new processes for addressing automation opportunities
- Identify emerging network and security solutions and in coordination with Network Engineering, evaluate products
- Assists network users requiring technical direction with limited training by creating instructional how-to guides
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field (i.e., Information Technology, Engineering, etc.)
- Requires knowledge of networking and firewall technologies (e.g., Arista, Cisco, Juniper Networks, and Palo Alto).
- Requires knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF)
- Requires knowledge of Layer 2 technologies (EVPN, VXLAN)
- Experience using automation and scripts (Ansible, Python) for playbooks, orchestration, and/or data collection
- Excellent skills in collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
- Knowledge of data center networking and security best practices
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with Arista Cloud Vision Portal or similar tools
- Experience using UNIX, Linux, and Windows, system administration
- Associate-level or higher certifications from Arista, Cisco, Juniper or Palo Alto
- Ansible experience
- Scripting skills in one or more languages in Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Ruby, etc.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools
- Experience with log collection and analysis platforms such as Splunk or ELK
- Experience in monitoring, analyzing and interpreting system logs to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behaviors
USD 77,800.00 - 116,800.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
