Network Automation Engineer

As a member of the Network Automation team, you will be developing and maintaining the systems and tools that support Zoom’s data center networks. Your work will help ensure exceptional performance, availability, and security across our infrastructure.

About the Team

We are looking for an engineer to join our Network Automation team. The team builds and manages tooling to deliver reliable high performance networks across Zoom's data centers worldwide. This tooling is critical to Zoom's infrastructure and Network Automation Engineers work closely with multiple teams across Zoom ensuring proper management of our data centers. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented, team-focused engineer with some experience in networking, coding, and system infrastructure. The network automation engineer will assist in developing new tools and managing existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Developing new and maintain existing tooling, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines that help manage Zoom's data center networks.

• Working extensively in infrastructure as code frameworks to manage network and monitoring configurations.

• Partnering with network and data center engineers to implement new features and changes to our systems.

• Developing and publish metrics and dashboards showing the health of our network and the automation tools.

• Assisting in designing frameworks and processes for Zoom's data center management including inventory, monitoring, and configuration management.

• Identifying and troubleshoot system and tooling failures to ensure reliable performance of Zoom's networks.

• Participating in an on-call rotation.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience as Network Automation Engineer

• Have least 2 years of experience with networking device configurations such as Juniper, Arista, Cisco

• Have solid experience with network transport and routing protocols: IP, TCP, UDP, BGP

• Have solid experience with Linux administration and scripting.

• Possess experience with network monitoring tools or suites such as Grafana, Prometheus, Solarwinds, Zabbix, Nagios

• Possess experience in CI/CD pipeline development and management: Jenkins, GitLab runners, Azure DevOps

• Possess experience in development with programming languages such as Python and Go

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
