Job Description Summary:

This is a Full Time, Permanent position.
ROLE AND PURPOSE
To consult, involve and work closely with ward members, residents, and stakeholders to develop and implement plans that reflect the priorities and needs of local communities. To promote and implement effective community-based partnership working to ensure that plans and improvements are developed and delivered in an inclusive manner.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. To promote local decision making by developing, leading and facilitating local engagement arrangements to identify and agree neighbourhood priorities, including the management of ward / neighbourhood forums, and other community and agency forums e.g., Community Safety Partnership, as appropriate, within the area. Maximising the opportunities of those excluded / disadvantaged socially, culturally or economically to participate and contribute.
2. To lead and develop local neighbourhood and multi-agency ward delivery plans, identifying clear baselines, targets and milestones to secure improvements in the local neighbourhood.
3. To lead, secure and monitor the effective commitment and involvement of officers, and external partners, in the provision of co-ordinated and responsive local services. Working in partnership with local stakeholders to deliver on local priorities and aspirations, therefore making a real difference to the lives of people in local communities
4. To lead the development and empowerment of community centres and community groups, providing advice, support, training and guidance, facilitating positive working relationships with service providers and community representatives.
5. To implement the local Performance Management framework within the ward in order to measure the positive impact of Ward Management at a local level, identifying areas improvement.
6. To work closely with and contribute to the role of elected members as community leaders by providing appropriate advice and support.
7. To co-ordinate and champion, the development and implementation of ward / neighbourhood value for money solutions to local problems, liaising with Community Managers to identify appropriate resources.
8. To provide feedback to local residents, Members and service providers on the impact of actions taken and in response to agreed priorities and plans and to produce and present reports to appropriate bodies, boards and partnerships.
9. To research, identify and adopt best practice from around the country.
10. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health & safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate H&S policy.
