This position can be home-based.

Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for the planning and stand-up creation of targeted emerging strategies across the enterprise, inclusive of building structure, financial plan, securing funding and establishing market performance objectives for achievement of the business vision and goals. Once established, successful initiatives can be assimilated into the overall Association's business structure. Improves business concepts and operational plans and incorporates opportunities to engage partners and key stakeholders. Creates financial plans and ensures funding. Responsible for collaborating and key partnerships with an interdisciplinary team of Chief Executives as well as American Heart Association Board and volunteer leaders.

  • Establishes the vision and creates an organizational plan for new business or initiatives including legal structure, governance model, funding sources and staffing
  • Collaborates and consults with C-suite on business impact, achievement of milestones, and strategic plans. Develops long-term strategies for organizational alignment of post-pilot initiatives
  • Collaborates with Mission Advancement and Corporate Relations to secure funding for emerging strategies
  • Develops business or initiative roadmap, communication and marketing plan for overall business concept and product development. Designs product structure, market strategy and development plan for introduction and launch of business or initiative
  • Leads implementation of operational plan as needed including hiring, developing and motivating key leadership roles to execute and manage business, partnerships, and market penetration
  • Develops models for partnerships and key stakeholder involvement to maximize success

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of work related experience
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years years of experience managing subject matter experts and operations managers
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years years of experience in program development, planning and management
  • Eight (8) to twelve (12) years years of experience in public health or non-profit services
  • Ability to travel up to 25% with some overnight stay

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health
  • Experience working with national level executive volunteers and national boards
  • Funder/fundraising and volunteer management experience
