About the Team:
The Rocky Mountain Team is a dynamic and collaborative group dedicated to driving Salesforce adoption within the public sector across the Rocky Mountain region. We foster a supportive and results-oriented environment where individual contributions are valued and team success is paramount.
Role Overview:
As a Salesperson focused on New Mexico State Government agencies, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of Salesforce solutions within this key market. You will leverage your understanding of the public sector landscape, procurement processes, and technology needs to build relationships, identify opportunities, and close deals. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, as well as a passion for helping government agencies achieve their missions through innovative technology.
Responsibilities:
Territory Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for New Mexico State Government agencies, identifying key target accounts and opportunities.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within various New Mexico state agencies, including executive leadership, IT departments, and procurement teams.
Needs Assessment: Understand the unique challenges and objectives of New Mexico state government agencies and align Salesforce solutions to address their specific needs.
Solution Selling: Present compelling Salesforce solutions through product demonstrations, presentations, and discussions, effectively communicating the value proposition and benefits to government stakeholders.
Proposal Development: Lead the development and delivery of high-quality proposals and responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring alignment with agency requirements and Salesforce best practices.
Negotiation and Closing: Effectively negotiate pricing and contract terms to secure successful deals and achieve sales targets.
Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation through contract execution, utilizing Salesforce tools and methodologies.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Sales Engineering, Solution Architects, Legal, and Customer Success, to ensure seamless customer experience and successful implementation.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and government regulations within the New Mexico public sector.
Forecasting and Reporting: Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and reports to sales management.
Travel: Occasional travel within New Mexico may be required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in enterprise software sales, with a proven track record of success in selling to government agencies (state or local preferred).
Strong understanding of the New Mexico state government landscape, including procurement processes, key agencies, and decision-making units.
Experience selling CRM or enterprise software solutions is highly preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in using CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus) and other sales productivity tools.
Desired Skills/Experience:
Existing relationships within New Mexico State Government agencies.
Experience responding to government RFPs and RFIs.
Knowledge of government compliance and security requirements.
Familiarity with Salesforce Public Sector solutions.
