Description

Role: The Mortgage Sales Manager leads the Residential Mortgage Sales Team and create strategies to develop mortgage lending by actively participating in the community and actively increasing the credit union’s share of the mortgage market. This position is also responsible for mortgage loan officer staff and activities during the application process and providing relevant information and guidance to the members in addition to handling their own mortgage loan portfolio and goals. This position is in office.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of loan officers and mortgage advisors to successfully achieve goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies related to production, marketing, and growth goals.
  • Position Blaze as an industry leader committed to exceptional member service.
  • Consistently communicate business goals, objectives, and company performance results. 
  • Analyze and research market conditions, competition, and product and process trends. 
  • Provide monthly forecasting to assist in pipeline management and market sales.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends by attending professional events and/or training opportunities.
  • Meet scorecard performance goals.
  • Adhere to all current and/or future policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Hiring, onboarding, ongoing development, and performance management of staff
  • Manage complex or difficult member and staff situations and respond effectively under pressure.
  • Network and attend events within communities to grow and attract new business, partnering with business development to increase visibility, awareness, and community support opportunities.
  • Develop solid working relationships and collaborate with internal business units to meet organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Easily adapt to change and embrace new ideas and encourage others to do the same.
  • Flexible in meeting changing needs of the organization and able to prioritize and manage multiple demands.
  • Assume all duties as assigned by management.

Other Duties

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Requirements

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Minimum high School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4-5 years similar or related financial experience; leadership experience a plus.

Demonstrated Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lead credit union department processes; exert regional influence or corporate knowledge sharing.
  • Knowledge of encompass a plus.

Communication Skills

Ability to proactively respond to members/employees to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.  

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal employees and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

The starting pay range is $78,490 -$87,000 as a base salary + monthly incentive plan for additional earning potential. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly and monthly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
