Job Description
The Modeller Plant3D will develop plant 3D layout with given vessel, tanks pumps, fans, piping, cable trays, bought out items and structure with input from Piping team leader, design engineers and project managers. OSHA & other international standard knowledge on maintenance and operation should be conversant. The 3D model to be developed in Autodesk Plant 3D software. The Modeller Autodesk Plant3D should be well conversion with linking P&ID to Plant 3D piping and will ensure that 2D drawing & BOM are prepared as per Jord standard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate design models in Autodesk Plant 3D, structure, equipment, piping, cable tray, cable tray support and pipe supports
- Draft smart P&lD’s in Autodesk Plant 3D.
- Arrangement of plant layout for structure, equipment’s, cable tray and piping for ease of maintenance & installation and cost effective.
- Should have command in Navisworks manage for giving comment on 3D model and for clash check.
- Extract from the 3D model GA arrangement, layout, orthographic, isometric drawings including bills of materials
- Knowledge of Skid mounted 3D modelling of plant essential.
- Liaise with piping team leader and mechanical engineers during the development of the drawings and P&lDs.
- Interface with pipe stress engineers to resolve any pipe routing issues.
- To generate smart P&ID in Plant 3D taking input from Piping team leader, Lead design engineer & process engineer.
- Develop company standards for plant layout and piping design.
- Review client specifications for piping and help identify the most appropriate plant layout.
- Proactively communicate with project team and Design engineers and issues arising during the design process.
- To perform other special tasks as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Basic qualification diploma / bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience as Main Autodesk plant3D developing modeler in equipment arrangement and piping layout in the oil and gas industry, chemical industries & HRSG.
- Should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in 3D piping software and convergent of drafting smart P&ID in Plant 3D.
- In-depth experience in plant, piping & equipment arrangement for various process plants and skid mounted units and pipe supports design.
- In-depth experience and high operating skills in 2D & 3D drafting activity specifically in Plant 3D and Basic knowledge of Inventor software.
- Modeler Plant3D should have knowledge on developing piping specifications in Plant 3D.
- Basic knowledge in piping design codes (ASME B 31.3/ B 31.1) preferred. Knowledge on pipe support & cable tray support is essential.
- Working knowledge in drafting isometric for piping drawings for process plants in 3D software is essential including piping supports.
- Basic knowledge of different types and working philosophy of Pumps, Instruments, Manual valves, On-Off valves, Control valves etc.
- Experience from project start to final completion is essential, site piping erection experience is beneficial.
- Must be able to work cross functionally / cultural with team members at all levels across multiple departments involved in different projects.
- Very good reading, writing and verbal communication skills in English.
Skills Required
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 to 5 years experience developing models in Autodesk Plant 3D for equipment arrangement and piping layout
- Minimum 2 years experience with 3D piping software and drafting smart P&ID in Plant 3D
- High operating skills in 2D & 3D drafting activities specifically in Plant 3D
- Experience extracting GA arrangement, layout, orthographic, isometric drawings and bills of materials from 3D models
- Proficiency with Navisworks Manage for model review and clash checking
- Knowledge of pipe supports and cable tray support design
- Working knowledge of isometric drafting for piping drawings including piping supports
- Basic knowledge of pumps, instruments, manual/on-off/control valves
- Experience across project lifecycle from start to final completion; site piping erection experience beneficial
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk Inventor
- Familiarity with piping design codes ASME B31.3 / B31.1
- Knowledge of OSHA and international standards relevant to maintenance and operation
- Strong English reading, writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to liaise and work cross-functionally with piping team leaders, design and process engineers
