The Mobile Financial Services (MFS) Solution Consulting Manager is responsible for leading Solution Consulting, Banking & Financial Services IT Transition Consulting, MFS/Fintech capability establishment and technology transformation initiatives within the MFS Professional Services organization.
The role acts as a strategic bridge between Customers, Sales, Product, Architecture, Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Service Management and Commercial teams.
The individual will develop a deep understanding of the customer's business strategy, business model, operating model, products, processes, organization and existing IT landscape, and translate these insights into scalable, technically feasible, commercially viable and operationally sustainable MFS solutions.
The role will lead customer discovery, solution consulting, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, solution workshops, POCs, transformation consulting, IT transition and capability-establishment initiatives.
The role will ensure continuity across the complete lifecycle:
Understand Customer → Assess Business & IT → Define Target State → Shape Solution → Implement → Transition → Go-Live → Stabilize → BAU → Continuous Improvement
What You will do:
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business objectives, operating models, technology landscapes, and organizational capabilities.
- Lead customer discovery sessions, assessments, workshops, and strategic consulting engagements.
- Design end-to-end MFS and fintech solutions across Mobile Money, Digital Wallets, Digital Payments, Open Banking, Lending, Remittances, KYC/eKYC, Fraud Management, APIs, Analytics, and Core Banking integrations.
- Develop transformation roadmaps, target operating models, business cases, and value propositions.
- Lead Banking & Financial Services IT transition programs, ensuring operational readiness, governance, risk management, and successful handover to BAU operations.
- Support strategic opportunities through solution development, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, customer presentations, and executive engagements.
- Drive POCs, pilots, and solution demonstrations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Architecture, Engineering, Delivery, Operations, and Customer Success teams.
- Build consulting capabilities, mentor teams, and develop reusable frameworks, methodologies, and solution assets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior banking, financial services, and fintech technology consulting professional who can seamlessly operate across both customer-facing Solution Consulting and execution-oriented IT Transition Consulting.
They should be able to understand and connect: Customer Business + Customer IT Landscape + People + Processes + Technology + Tools
and translate these insights into practical, scalable, and sustainable MFS and digital financial services solutions.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable:
- Engaging C-level banking and fintech executives.
- Assessing enterprise IT and technology landscapes.
- Shaping commercial and transformation propositions.
- Collaborating with architects and engineering teams.
- Defining operating models and governance frameworks.

Required Experience
- 10-15+ years of experience in MFS, Fintech, Banking, Payments, Digital Banking, Technology Consulting, Solution Architecture, or Pre-Sales.
- Strong expertise in solution consulting, customer advisory, enterprise solution design, and technology transformation.
- Proven experience in IT transition, operational readiness, service transformation, and technology modernization.
- Experience working with banks, financial institutions, fintechs, mobile network operators (MNOs), payment service providers, or technology partners.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Experience managing complex RFP/RFI/RFQ engagements and strategic customer opportunities.
Preferred Experience
- Multi-country fintech or MFS programs.
- Open Banking/Open Finance initiatives.
- Cloud transformation and banking modernization programs.
- Greenfield fintech or digital banking capability establishment.
- Experience building consulting or professional services organizations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA/Master's degree and relevant industry certifications preferred.
