Job Description
As we continue through a period of explosive growth, HedgeServ is searching for driven professional who can make an immediate impact in our newly created Middle Office team, based in Manila.
The Middle Office Team at HedgeServ perform all trading desk support responsibilities required of large Multi-Strategy Hedge Funds. The Middle Office Associate will work across functions such as trade capture, affirmations, and pricing. Other responsibilities will be, but not limited to, issue resolution, client reporting deliverables, and technology development.
The position will expose the successful candidate to all financial markets and products traded globally, including highly complex derivative instruments. You will develop invaluable inexperience around how each product trades in the market. The position boosts a very wide range of tasks across all facets of the trading cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the establishment of processes, standards and culture in a newly formed Middle Office team
- Daily, ensure all Client trades are booked, portfolios are priced, and critical Client reporting is delivered.
- Management of lifecycle events on our Clients’ Portfolio positions – Examples being: Corporate Actions, Option Expiries, and CFD resets
- APAC coverage of Bank Debt Instruments - Bank loan instrument setup, management of contract cash flows, trade settlement, and processing of loan conversions. This can require communication with various external parties, including loan agents who provide documentation on various loan life-cycle events.
- PnL checks ensuring client EOD reports are in line with daily market activity and price movements.
- Reviewing Portfolio pricing against vendors such as Bloomberg and Reuters, to ensure accuracy
- Work collaboratively with the Sydney based Middle Office team during the APAC day, while engaging with the wider Middle Office teams as part of an effective Global ‘Follow the Sun’ model.
- Communicate effectively with clients, external vendors, and internal stakeholders, in both written and verbal forms, to ensure correct settlement of trades and resolution of breaks.
- Quickly build a deep understanding of the propriety HedgeServ applications and platforms, which support functions such as Trade Capture, Security Master Setups, the creation and delivery of sensitive client Reporting, Price Portfolios, and display real-time PnL and Risk to Trading teams and Portfolio Managers.
- Effectively hand over outstanding items to internal teams, and escalate issues clearly to management
- Troubleshooting Trade Booking and Pricing queries received from both internal teams and external parties, on a wide range of Products
Requirements
Education:
- Completed bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
Experience:
- Exposure to various key financial products, (i.e. Equities, Options, Futures, Fixed Income and various derivatives) would be an asset
- Strong Excel skills
- Have been in a Client Service focused role, communicating effectively with clients & vendors, and working with teams across regions
- Experience using multiple applications to perform daily tasks, while maintaining appropriate risk and control measures, with high accuracy rates
Personal skills:
- IT Literate with an emphasis on Excel
- Ability to be flexible, self-motivated and work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with people in a positive and effective manner.
- Ability to multi-task and succeed in a results oriented, high pressure environment with an understanding of the need for 100% accuracy
