Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with program managers and product owners to develop and deliver products that customers love.
- Lead cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, architects, and subject matter experts through all phases of the data science lifecycle.
- Lead the design, development, testing, and documentation of software code and data pipelines (batch and streaming) for data extraction, ingestion, transformation, cleaning, correlation, and analytics.
- Architect, develop, and scale new data services/products, ensuring robust performance and operational efficiency.
- Drive excellence in Data Science and Engineering while fostering a culture of innovation.
- Perform quality management and performance reviews.
- Work in a consultative fashion to improve communication, collaboration, and alignment within the Data Science Department and across the organization.
- Contribute to the development of white papers and proposals, supporting business growth through technical expertise.
- Provide strategic insights on product development and long-term data management approaches
- Participate in research, case studies, and prototype development to explore and leverage cutting-edge technologies.
- Help to recruit, mentor, and retain top data science and engineering talent.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working as a data engineer or data scientist with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Data Science/Statistics or relevant discipline, 8+ years of experience, with MS, or 5+ years of experience with PhD.
- Current Security+ certification (or must obtain within 30 days)
- Mastery in developing software code in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, Matlab, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience creating ETL processes and working with a variety of databases (SQL, NoSQL, Graph, etc.) and data architectures (Data Lake, Lakehouse)
- 3+ years of experience leading a team in an Agile environment.
- 3+ years of experience in short-release cycles and the full software lifecycle.
- Knowledgeable in machine learning/AI methodologies
- Strong writing and oral communication skills to deliver design documents, technical reports, and presentations to a variety of audiences
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Azure solutions (Databricks, Spark Streaming, OpenAI Service).
- Experience with PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, and graph databases.
- Experience with GenAI enabled daily workflows (coding, testing, analytics).
- Experience with one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Spark SQL, Hive, Impala, Presto, etc.)
