As part of our Seamless Service Interactions squad within Connected Customer Experience, you'll work with talented engineers, product specialists and business experts to deliver scalable, customer focused solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. This is an opportunity to work on complex enterprise technology while helping evolve the way we engineer, deliver and support customer experiences.

The role you will play

As a senior engineer, you'll combine hands on development with technical leadership, working closely with your squad to deliver high quality solutions and continuously improve our engineering practices.

  • Design, develop and enhance Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform solutions that deliver outstanding customer and employee experiences.
  • Build secure, scalable integrations between Dynamics 365 and enterprise applications using Azure services, REST APIs and modern integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, engineers and business stakeholders to translate customer needs into robust technical solutions.
  • Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of complex technical challenges, identifying practical solutions that improve platform reliability, performance and maintainability.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and helping lift technical capability across the squad.
  • Contribute to reducing technical debt and evolving our Dynamics 365 platform to support future business needs.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about building great software.

  • 5+ years' experience as a software engineer delivering enterprise applications within agile product teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, particularly Customer Service and Sales, together with Power Platform.
  • Experience developing customisations including iworkflows and Power Automate Flows, Plugins, JavaScript and PCF controls.
  • Experience designing integrations using Azure services, REST APIs, microservices and modern cloud integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps delivery approaches.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams to deliver customer focused outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform certifications would be an advantage, as would experience with Dynamics 365 Finance or emerging AI capabilities.

If you bring most of this experience, along with transferable skills and the drive to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

What we can offer you

We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work.

  • Generous Staff Travel benefits for you, your friends and whānau.
  • FlexiLeave, giving you the option to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave each year.
  • A learning culture that supports your development through meaningful work, on the job learning and career growth opportunities.
  • Access to a wide range of employee discounts across travel, retail, banking, insurance and more.
  • Health and wellbeing support, including our Wellbeing Hub, Employee Assistance Programme and access to discounted healthcare options.

Ready for take-off?

This is your opportunity to make a real impact on the technology behind Air New Zealand's customer experience. If you're passionate about Microsoft technologies, enjoy working in collaborative agile teams and want to help build the future of customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
