Microservices Java Developer

What success looks like in this role:

Job Summary:

A skilled and motivated Microservices Java Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust backend systems that power our enterprise applications.

Knowledge and experience in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, VertX and domain knowledge on Biometric Integration will be an added advantage.

Job as well involves development and support of some portion of the solution that is developed using J2EE, Spring and Hibernate

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop microservices-based applications using Java, VertX, and related technologies.
• Develop and support solution components developed using J2EE, Spring and Hibernate
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with external systems and services.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.
• Open to learn different domain and technologies as required by the program
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system performance.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and API gateways.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle.
• Understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Familiarity with Biometric integration and devices is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, VertX
• Knowledge of security best practices in microservices.
