Are you ready to provide direction and leadership to your team, ensuring product integrity and overseeing engineering initiatives? As a Manager, Engineering at Spectrum, you will coordinate with Construction, Dispatch, Warehouse, Technical Operations, and Care operations to optimize customer experience, while also managing purchasing, budgeting, and the deployment of new products. You will assist with capital projects and lead the hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Provide overall direction for all areas of engineering support, focusing on system locations, new and existing technologies, and operating standards
- Consult with managers on technical operations and strategic planning, of rebuilds, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment
- Evaluate and advise managers on construction projects, capital budget items and equipment requirements
- Provide quality assurance support and direction to engineering staff regarding new or existing technologies, company technical quality assurance (TQA) standards
- Maintain good relations with local utilities, vendors, contractors and government agencies
- Guide the capital budget process, ensuring projects are cost effective, completed on time, and on budget
- Monitor current procedures and tests to ensure compliance with FCC standards
- Develop an effective front line leadership team, assist them in cultivating a high-performance culture and environment
- Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)
Experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of related supervisory experience
- 1+ year project management work experience
- HFC and Networking experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure, prioritize and organize effectively, provide coaching and counseling, supervise and motivate others
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
- Knowledge of Spectrum products and services
- Knowledge of Electronic theory, Federal Communications Commission regulations and Fiber Optic theory
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standards
Preferred Qualifications

- RF, Ethernet and Fiber cable standards
- Power and PDU infrastructure knowledge
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Lab Operations or Data Center (data hall) lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process

The base pay for this position generally is between
$98,780.00 and $175,340.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
