Role Overview

The Medior Commerce Specialist runs the day-to-day operation of a defined book of Amazon client accounts. We work across both Vendor Central and Seller Central, so you need to be fluent in both operating models. This is a hands-on execution role: you keep the operational foundation healthy, purchase orders, catalogue, content, availability and account hygiene, and you build and optimise the Sponsored Ads campaigns that sit on top of it.

On Vendor Central the operating rhythm is different to a pure Seller Central role. Amazon Retail is the customer. Revenue moves through POs, fill rate and sourcing decisions, and margin leaks through chargebacks, shortages and unprofitable SKUs long before anyone notices it in the sales number. You are expected to work that cycle deliberately: reconcile what was ordered against what was shipped, received and paid, and file disputes inside the window with the evidence attached.

You work to targets and account priorities set with the Commerce Lead, and you own the execution against them. Day-to-day work runs through Vendor Central, Seller Central, the Amazon Ads console and Pacvue. The expectation is that you spot problems in your accounts before anyone else does, arrive with a diagnosis rather than a flag, and escalate the genuinely complex cases early with your working attached.

Key ResponsibilitiesVendor Central Operations (1P)
  • Purchase order management: Manage the weekly PO cycle: review and confirm orders, track acceptance and fill rate, and flag sourcing or availability issues to the client and the lead before they turn into lost sales.
  • Shortages and disputes: Reconcile invoices against ASN and proof of delivery, identify shortage claims, and file disputes inside the 60-day window with complete evidence. Track open claims through to recovery rather than through to submission.
  • Chargebacks: Monitor chargebacks by category (PO accuracy, ASN, prep, transportation, receive defects, item setup), dispute those that are defensible with the required evidence, and feed recurring root causes back to the client as a process fix.
  • Catalogue and cost integrity: Maintain clean item setup, cost and price data, manage cost change submissions, and monitor SKUs at risk of CRaP or unprofitable status with a recommended mitigation.
  • New item onboarding: Set up new ASINs correctly first time, coordinate item data, content and variation structure, and support new-item launch programmes.
Seller Central and Marketplace Operations (3P)
  • Catalogue and listing health: Monitor suppressed, inactive and stranded listings across your accounts, work the fix-loop from diagnosis through to reinstatement using flat files and feed error resolution, and prioritise by revenue at risk.
  • Account health: Track account health metrics, policy notifications and listing quality issues on a weekly cadence. Open Amazon support cases and drive them through to resolution rather than dropping them at first response.
  • Buy Box and availability: Monitor Buy Box share, replenishment status and out-of-stock patterns, identify the likely cause across sourcing, pricing and third-party sellers, and raise it with a recommended action.
  • Inventory and fulfilment: Track inventory position and fulfilment performance, and flag replenishment and stock risk early enough to act on it.
PPC and Retail Media Execution
  • Campaign management: Build and optimise Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display campaigns, working to the ACoS, TACoS and revenue targets agreed per account.
  • Automation: Operate Pacvue day to day for bid rules, budget pacing and dayparting, and recognise where automated logic is working against the account and manual intervention is needed.
  • Search term hygiene: Run search term analysis on a regular cycle, harvest converting terms into exact-match structures, negate wasted spend, and keep a clear record of what was changed and what it did.
  • Budget stewardship: Track spend against monthly budgets by account, coordinate with co-op and accrual commitments where relevant, and flag under- or over-delivery early with a proposed reallocation.
Reporting, Data and Monitoring
  • Weekly reporting: Produce weekly account performance summaries covering shipped and ordered revenue, advertising efficiency and inventory position, each with a short written diagnosis of what changed and why.
  • Retail analytics: Work fluently in ARA and Brand Analytics: sourcing and net PPM, replenishable out-of-stock, glance views and conversion, and translate those signals into a concrete action.
  • Anomaly detection: Identify significant week-on-week movers, ordered revenue drops, traffic or conversion shifts and fee or deduction anomalies, and decompose the cause before the client raises it.
  • Search performance: Track organic rank and share of query on priority keywords, and connect ranking movement back to content, availability and advertising decisions.
Content and Catalogue Optimisation
  • Listing optimisation: Maintain and improve titles, bullets, backend keywords and product attributes against current Amazon policy, including EU and UK title requirements, and against search intent.
  • A+ Content and Brand Stores: Implement and maintain A+ Content and Brand Store updates to support conversion and organic visibility, and coordinate translated content across locales.
Troubleshooting and Escalation
  • Root cause: Take ownership of operational issues in your accounts, feed errors, listing suppressions, sudden profitability drops, and drive them to a documented resolution.
  • Escalation: Escalate complex or ambiguous issues to a senior specialist or the Commerce Lead early, with your diagnosis and the evidence behind it.
  • Playbooks: Follow the team playbooks for recurring fixes, and contribute back to them when you solve something new.
Knowledge and SkillsEssential
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Amazon marketplace operations, with meaningful time spent working inside live client accounts.
  • Practitioner-level Vendor Central capability: PO management and fill rate, shortage claims, chargeback categories and dispute process, item setup, and cost and price maintenance. You should be able to talk through a dispute you filed and what it recovered.
  • Working command of Seller Central: catalogue uploads and flat files, case management, listing troubleshooting and account health.
  • Demonstrable Amazon Advertising capability across Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands, with a clear track record of optimising to efficiency targets rather than simply running campaigns.
  • Comfortable pulling and interrogating raw platform data, ARA or Brand Analytics, search query performance and advertising reports, and turning it into a specific optimisation. Strong Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Clear written English: concise account commentary, well-structured escalations and client-ready reporting.
  • Self-directed and reliable, able to run a multi-account workload to a weekly cadence without close supervision.
Preferred
  • Experience across EU marketplaces and multi-locale catalogues, including EU compliance and localisation requirements.
  • Hands-on use of a campaign automation or bid management platform, Pacvue or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Direct Fulfilment, Direct Import or new-item launch programmes on Vendor Central.
  • Agency or multi-client environment experience.
  • Sponsored Display or Amazon DSP exposure.
