SitelogIQ is a rapidly growing company focused on making buildings better. We provide planning, design, and management solutions for organizations that want efficient and sustainable building environments that are healthier and safer for their occupants.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Designer II who’s excited to go beyond standard design work and contribute to meaningful projects - especially in education environments where performance, comfort, and energy efficiency truly matter.
Some travel will be required within the Midwest region. This travel may include but is not limited to client meetings, site visits, field verifications, and building assessments.
The salary range is $90,000-$110,000. The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be a hands-on contributor working alongside engineers and project teams to design mechanical systems that improve how public buildings operate - especially schools. Your work will influence everything from classroom comfort to long-term energy savings.
- Design and support mechanical building systems for K-12 and public sector projects, balancing performance, cost, and constructability
- Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to bring designs from concept through construction
- Visit project sites across the Midwest for field verification, assessments, and client interaction—seeing your designs come to life
- Produce Revit models and construction documents that clearly communicate design intent
- Analyze existing building systems and help identify opportunities for improvement and modernization
- Support construction phases through RFIs, submittals, and site observations
Why This Role Stands Out
- Meaningful Projects: Work on schools and public facilities that impact entire communities - not just commercial spaces
- Visible Impact: Your designs directly improve building performance, occupant comfort, and sustainability
- Variety: Mix of design work and real-world exposure through site visits and collaboration
- Growth Opportunity: Take ownership of projects and continue developing into a more senior technical role
What You Bring
- Experience designing and modeling mechanical building systems
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with construction documentation
- Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and how design translates to the field
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, curious mindset—you enjoy learning and improving your craft
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience working on K-12 or public sector buildings
- Exposure to plumbing or fire protection design
- Interest in sustainability or certifications like LEED
