The Operations Manager will be required to work out of the Coshocton, OH facility (this is not a remote position).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities of this Manufacturing Operations Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, manage, and hold direct reports accountable (3 supervisors, 1 maintenance supervisor, 1 engineer)
  • Attend weekly meetings, including quality, safety, maintenance, and others as needed
  • Facilitate shift changes, promote collaboration, and bridge gaps between teams and departments across production, engineering, and maintenance
  • Manage and improve conversion cost; labor management – hours / manning, line maintenance, component management – inventory / purchasing
  • Be a servant leader: provide tools and resources for success, develop team members, coordinate day-to-day operations to achieve goals, foster team cohesion
  • Promote quality production and own results: define and adhere to ISO 9001 processes, collaborate with quality manager to implement processes, take corrective action – identify root causes, conduct analysis, develop, and implement action plans
  • Own safety procedures: use “near miss” tracking and “non-routine hazards awareness” to keep team members safe, execute existing programs and ensure adherence in daily operations
  • Design and implement systems and structures in operations, safety, and inventory – Champion for continuous improvement
  • Anticipate day-to-day production needs, coordinate schedules to meet customer commitments, prioritize unforeseen challenges, and solve issues permanently
  • Evaluate, modify, and solidify Operator Work Instructions (OWIs) to create consistency, establish process discipline, and increase efficiency and productivity

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing industry
  • Experience managing a team of 15+
  • Experience working for a company with 100+ employees
  • Track record of demonstrated improvements / results
  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • 8+ years’ experience as a manufacturing operations manager or similar role
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing industry
  • Stable, long-term work history (5+ years at one company)
  • Experience working in a facility with 200+ people
  • Experience working a hard labor industry
  • 4-year degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field
  • Master’s degree in business administration

Desired:

  • Experience working in heavy industrial industry
  • Experience working in large product manufacturing
  • Experience producing made-to-order products
  • Experience implementing processes
  • Experience communicating across multiple departments

Computer Skills: Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and email, database management and spreadsheets.
