About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing Technology Manager to lead the development, integration, and optimization of marketing technology (MarTech) capabilities tailored for our products and audiences in Greater China, to ensure Springer Nature stays competitive and supports the rapid business growth This role will be responsible for aligning MarTech with our goals on customer engagement in China by enabling localized customer engagement through data, platforms, and automation — ensuring that global marketing systems and strategies are effectively adapted and extended to Greater China’s unique digital ecosystem. This role will have a special focus on enabling local MarTech tools in collaboration with the Product team for the local platforms.
The ideal candidate is a strategic technologist with a deep understanding of Greater China’s digital platforms (WeChat, Alibaba, Douyin, Baidu, Tencent ecosystem), privacy and data compliance (PIPL, CSL) and other China’s unique regulatory environment , and marketing automation tools.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a localized MarTech strategy aligned with global frameworks and Greater China’s regulatory environment.
Identify, evaluate, and implement Greater China-specific MarTech solutions (CRM, CDP, DMP, marketing automation, data analytics).
Lead the integration of global platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, HubSpot) with Greater China-local tech stacks and APIs.
Manage vendor relationships with local and global partners; budget and resource management
Ensure compliance with Greater China’s data privacy and cybersecurity laws (PIPL, CSL, DSL).
Act as the bridge between global MarTech and Greater China’s local ecosystem, advocating for local requirements and innovations.
Stay informed on industry trends, customer behaviour, competitive activity, latest technologies and evolving digital marketing landscape in China
Enable local marketing teams to leverage available technology, to their fullest by being the subject matter expert and making recommendations on use
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or marketing operations.
Strong understanding of Greater China’s digital landscape, including WeChat ecosystem, Baidu, Douyin, Alibaba, and other major platforms.
Working knowledge of data architecture, APIs, and system integration.
Experience with global platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, Oracle, HubSpot) and Greater China-local tools (Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, GrowingIO, JINGdigital, etc.).
Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder communication skills, comfortable in interacting with senior stakeholders across departments.
High autonomy in driving projects, paired with strong collaborative mindset
Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
