Job Responsibilities:
  • Objectives of the Job:
    1. The core objective of this position is to manage an engineering team of Interior Systems including IP/CC/CCB, Hard and Soft Trim, Seat and Restraint (refer as "INT" below) to work on vehicle design and development projects.
    2. Senior project engineer monitors team dynamic in project execution to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery, and ultimately to meet customer satisfaction.
    Main Duties:
    1. Set group strategy for INT in-line with company and department goals.
    2. Support the quotation for business acquisition.
    3. Set-up project teams and assign project tasks to team members for proper project execution.
    4. Oversee project execution for in-time and high-quality delivery, make organization adjustment if necessary.
    5. Build and maintain a technical-advanced functional team of INT.
    6. Manage group operations for group members, including recruiting, goal setting, attendance, disciplinary behavior, retention, performance review, etc.
    7. Lead INT projects per Department Manager request.
    8. Build and maintain INT database for organizational competitiveness.
    9. Support the building and maintenance of customer relationships.
    10. Steer suppliers to meet project timing, quality, and cost targets.
    11. Educate and foster a culture that in-line with Magna Core Value.
    12. Request support from Department Manager to put in-place disciplinary actions if required.
    13. Report management and project status in a professional and comprehensible manner.
    14. Perform other tasks as required by Department Manager.
    Qualification:
    1. Degree in Automotive engineering, Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering, Material Engineering, etc.
    2. Candidate should have ten or more years of INT engineering and development experiences, and knows broadly the structures, theories, function and performance targets, and tech trends of the technical area.
    3. Candidate should have three or more years of INT engineering team management experiences.
    4. Proficient in oral and written English. German is a plus.
    5. Proficient in CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office suite. NX is a plus.
    6. Good understanding of vehicle design and development processes, work content, and deliverables at each phase of the development lifecycle in MSDS and/or OEM PDP set-ups.
    7. Broad understanding of vehicle engineering topics (e.g., mechanics, mechatronic, material, color and trim finish, strength and stiffness, durability, functional safety)
    8. Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., molding, stamping, and other fabrication methods; plastic welding and other joining methods; painting; and general assembling)
    9. General understanding of quality management and quality tools.
    10. General understanding of vehicle engineering organization (e.g., vehicle architecture, complete vehicle, body, trim, chassis, E/E) and its upstream / downstream partners (e.g., marketing, styling, purchase, quality, logistics, aftermarket, plant)
    11. Deep understanding of project management principles and best practices. PMP certification is a plus.
    12. Advanced soft skills in communication, leadership, conflict resolution, moderation, and presentation.
    13. Person of integrity who recognizes and practices the values of: Think big, Take responsibility, Never settle, and Be collaborative.
    14. Be able to travel domestically and abroad.
