About the team

The Marketing team at Airwallex drives brand awareness and customer engagement through innovative and strategic campaigns. We work to communicate the value of our financial solutions, attract new customers, and strengthen relationships with existing ones. What you’ll do

We’re looking for a smart, resourceful, and market-savvy Marketing Manager to join the Airwallex Southeast Asia team as our marketer on the ground in Malaysia.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape and execute the marketing strategy in one of our newest markets. You will work hand-in-hand with the Singapore-based SEA marketing team on all elements of marketing that are relevant to Malaysia - including brand building, events, association partnerships, affiliate marketing, content creation, performance marketing, and SEO, as well as collaborating closely with our sales, product, and PR teams.

You’ll serve as the local expert, helping us localise messaging, uncover growth opportunities, ensure cultural and market relevance, and act as the on-the-ground connector across all marketing activities. You will also lead initiatives in collaboration with the local commercial team including revenue-driving partnerships.

This role is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities:
  • Help craft the Marketing strategy for Malaysia

    • Provide market insights on Malaysia’s competitive landscape, terminology, product-market fit, regulatory nuances, and customer expectations.

    • Work with the Country Manager and SEA marketing teams to develop a fully integrated marketing strategy for Malaysia

  • Campaign Support & Localisation

    • Act as the key local advisor and executional partner for regional campaigns and run by the SEA performance marketing team in collaboration with you.

  • Guide language, messaging, tone, and format to ensure local resonance.

    • Work with our sales and product teams to support go-to-market planning and provide a closed feedback loop to marketing initiatives.

  • Content & Communication

    • Lead the localisation of content creation — including customer case studies, blogs, social posts, web copy, and email — to reflect Malaysia’s language and cultural context.

    • Act as the main point of contact in Malaysia for the marketing team with customers and partners

  • Events

    • Work with the regional field marketing team on the event strategy for Malaysia and on coordinating execution with the wider organisation

    • Lead the onshore execution, including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders in Malaysia.

  • Associations and affiliates

    • Own the strategy and execution of partnerships with associations and affiliates in Malaysia to drive revenue growth

  • PR Support

    • Liaise with the separate PR & Comms team to provide local context, news hooks, and stakeholder recommendations.

  • Reporting & Budget Support

    • Develop full reporting on marketing performance overall, support campaign tracking and provide on-the-ground feedback on performance and audience engagement.

    • Assist with managing and tracking the Malaysia marketing budget and resource allocation.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
  • 6+ years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B or tech

  • Experience running or contributing to multi-channel campaigns, particularly in Malaysia

  • An understanding of the Malaysian SME and mid-market audience

  • Knowledge of digital performance channels, content localisation, and event execution

  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia

  • Able to work hands-on with data and tech platforms for marketing analytics

  • A self-starter with a strong understanding of the Malaysian business landscape and marketing channels

  • A collaborative team player who’s happy being the connector between regional strategy and local execution

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-collaborative environment

  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to operate with autonomy

Preferred qualifications:
  • Familiar with B2B, tech, SaaS, or fintech marketing (ideal, but not required)
