ABOUT BOLTON’S COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
Bolton’s Communications practice supports organizations in improving employee engagement and well-being by developing effective communication strategies that increase awareness and utilization of benefits and programs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Ready to jump in and start making things happen in the marketing world? Bolton is looking for a curious, creative, and driven Marketing Intern to join our team and help bring our brand to life across every channel we touch. This isn’t a “shadow and observe” internship — you’ll be a genuine contributor from day one, working on projects that actually go out into the world. You’ll get exposure to the full marketing mix: social media, website content, campaigns, client proposals, and events. If you like variety, moving fast, and seeing your work make an impact, this is the internship for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Social Media: Help plan, create, and post content that gets people talking — from behind-the-scenes moments to campaign launches
- Website Content: Write, edit, and refresh copy and pages to keep our site sharp and on-brand
- Campaigns: Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns from concept to launch
- Proposals: Assist in building compelling, well-designed proposals that help win new business
- Events: Help plan and support marketing presence at events, from prep to on-the-ground execution
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm fresh ideas and bring creative concepts to life
- Use AI tools to speed up research, content creation, and idea generation across projects
Requirements
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong writing skills and an eye for detail
- A proactive, “I’ll figure it out” attitude
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Canva AI, or similar) for content creation, research, or productivity
- Design skills — comfortable in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar to create polished visuals
- Genuine curiosity about marketing trends, tools, and what makes a brand stand out
Travel Requirements
- Estimated travel: Minimal
- May include client visits, internal meetings, or industry events

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: $22.00 per hour
(Actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.) - Benefits: This is a part-time internship and is not eligible for Bolton’s employee benefits (such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), or paid time off); compensation for this role consists solely of the hourly wage listed above.
