About the Job

As part of 2020 Companies and Nokia Mobile, the Market Development Manager (MDM) will specialize in product training and brand advocacy, drive Retail Sales Associate recommendations, and ensure visual presence in Wireless and Big Box Retailers. The Nokia Mobile MDM is the face of our training and marketing efforts to support Nokia Mobile sales at the retail wireless store level. An ideal MDM candidate will drive for success, applying their energy to deliver superior service and experience for empowering Retail Sales Associates during their visits. An MDM must be customer focused, action oriented, persuasive, tech savvy, while also being able to communicate effectively. Ideally, the candidate must be able to explain wireless technology, engage consumers and train Retail Sales Associates while building meaningful relationships within their assigned market during regular visits to assigned locations. MDM's must be able to deliver training and sales presentations, comfortable interacting with consumers, facilitating active use of the mobile training platform, and ensure Nokia Mobile visual and product placement is up to standard.

What you can expect as a Nokia Mobile Market Development Manager:

  • Provide training and support to Retail Sales Associates and store Leadership
  • Demonstrate Nokia Mobile products at retailers in assigned market
  • Complete audits of displays, while partnering with retailers to ensure brand presence and perception
  • Use personal transportation to travel within assigned market visiting retailers on a weekly schedule
  • Engage and guide consumers with the latest and most relevant product information when making a purchase decision
  • Communicate virtually with stores outside of immediate markets while maintaining relationships and being Nokia Mobile Advocates
  • Coordinate and deliver group trainings
  • Work closely with Store Associates and Management to build tight-knit relationships.

Job Description:

  • Duties include creating consumer awareness, brand awareness, and product mind share for Nokia Mobile at retail stores through providing sales, product, brand, and advocacy partnerships
  • Ability to influence others sharing enthusiasm for the brand and the product line
  • Use personal transportation to travel within assigned market visiting retailers within the cadence
  • Ability to provide a quiet working environment for remote engagements and daily activity reporting
  • Effectively collect and communicate RSA, Manager, Leadership, and customer feedback within surveys
  • Capture RSA information along with Mobile Training Activity and drive continued use through tracking and advocacy
  • Ability to visually assess on-site needs i.e., product and promotional/marketing material, inventory levels
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges within the stores, such as product display issues
  • Partner with Program Leadership for new initiatives execution and success
  • Train 1:1 or in groups to ensure RSA's are knowledgeable on "Why Nokia" and how to determine and match the correct Nokia Mobile device to a customer's needs
  • Participate in training sessions and conference calls as required
  • Must have weekday availability along with some weekend availability. This may include participation in after business hours events, or industry tradeshows
  • Must use a web enabled device (smartphone or tablet) with iOS or Android with an active data plan
  • Must be comfortable conducting business impact conversations with retail management and market leadership on the business value proposition of client products
  • Must be eligible to work in the US and pass a Background and Motor Vehicle Check

Performance Measurements:

  • Visited assigned retailers within assigned market per guidelines from client
  • Contact Virtual locations to provide similar support remotely
  • Achieve assigned active training goals
  • Gather RSA information for future contact
  • Hitting assigned Market Goals for retailer visits/contacts, RSA product and brand knowledge, trainings, and revenue and unit goals

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of customer facing retail wireless sales experience preferred; retail wireless management is a plus
  • 2+ years of Market multi-location sales experience
  • Mobile savvy and computer proficient, and experience with wireless mobile handsets
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Must have the willingness and ability to build relationships at the retail store level through District or Regional level along with being comfortable conducting group trainings, wireless retail sales, demonstration, or presentations to those groups
  • Friendly demeanor, easy to approach, enthusiastic, energetic, and goal oriented
  • Attend events, trainings, trade shows, on behalf of Nokia Mobile
  • Partner with Client and Peers to generate feedback and initiatives for sales strategies
  • Quick learner, self-motivated, show initiative and work with limited oversite
  • Reliable transportation for Primary Market Visits
  • 80% of time will be infield visits (75% in primary, 25% secondary), with 20% of time being admin/remote support
  • Positive, flexible and focused, with an emphasis on impactful engagements
  • Use tools provided, along with creativity to determine how to increase revenue/unit sales within retailers, identifying location support based on need

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, and moving items
  • Requires the ability to move around the store and maneuver merchandise when necessary to assist customers
  • Ability to travel to multiple stores each day and get in/out of vehicle
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds independently
