The Manufacturing Engineering Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of the plant’s engineering function, supervising multiple Senior Engineering Leaders across diverse business segments. This role is responsible for developing and executing plant-wide engineering strategies that drive operational excellence, innovation, and compliance with global standards. Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Lead and supervise Senior Engineering Leaders across multiple business units within the plant.
- Define and implement plant-wide manufacturing engineering strategies and priorities.
- Drive cross-segment collaboration to standardize best practices and optimize engineering performance.
- Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for engineering programs.
- Champion innovation in automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing technologies.
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards, EHS policies, and corporate governance.
- Lead plant-level CAPA systems, investigations, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Monitor engineering KPIs and ensure continuous improvement across all segments.
- Facilitate talent development, mentoring, and succession planning within the engineering organization.
- Comply with EHS regulations and policies; identify and report any EHS concern and support on corrective actions.
Quality Expectations:
- Ensure completion of all required Quality & Compliance training.
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and support corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience managing multi-segment engineering teams and large-scale initiatives. Expertise in strategic planning, operational excellence, and change management. Strong leadership and communication skills with executive presence. Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and digital manufacturing methodologies. Experience leading CAPA systems and cross-functional investigations. Ability to influence cross-functional and global teams. Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent business leadership training.
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- Experience with global regulatory compliance and enterprise systems.
- Background in advanced automation, smart manufacturing, and digital transformation.
- Experience in plant integrations or large-scale transformation projects.
