What you'll do
This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape how Airwallex works, connects, and grows across the Americas. You will own the end-to-end strategy, operations, and experience of our Workplaces across San Francisco, New York City, Toronto, Austin, and our emerging footprints in Mexico and Brazil. You will lead a talented team of Workplace Experience professionals, oversee facilities, vendors, real estate strategy, and budgets, and use data and employee insight to continually raise the standard for our workplaces.
At the heart of this role is the opportunity to bring Airwallex's next chapter to life. You will spearhead the build-out of a brand-new San Francisco headquarters from the ground up, partnering with architects, designers, and builders to create a workspace that reflects our culture, ambition, and Operating Principles. You will also help shape the next phase of our New York City presence as we expand into a larger footprint. Through thoughtful programming, strong operational leadership, and a deep focus on employee experience, you will create workplaces that energize our teams, strengthen our culture, and inspire people to do their best work.
This role is based in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
Own the workplace experience across Airwallex's Americas portfolio, ensuring our San Francisco headquarters and regional hubs in New York, Toronto, Austin, Mexico, and Brazil are welcoming, inspiring, and operationally excellent.
Manage the Workplace budget across operating expenses and capital expenditure, making thoughtful investments that improve employee experience while optimizing space and costs.
Set the vision, objectives, policies, and operating standards for Workplace across the region, ensuring seamless delivery and compliance with health, safety, and local regulations.
Lead the end-to-end build-out of Airwallex's new San Francisco headquarters, from vision and concept through design, construction, and move-in. Partner with architects, designers, and general contractors to create a space that brings our brand and Operating Principles to life.
Drive the expansion of the NYC office into a larger, best-in-class footprint, including site selection, lease negotiation support, design oversight, and transition planning.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Workplace Experience partners and specialists across the region, setting a high bar for service, ownership, and execution.
Use key performance indicators such as in-person attendance, space utilization, operational performance, and employee satisfaction to identify opportunities and guide continuous improvement.
Build and manage strategic vendor partnerships across real estate, property management, Food & Beverage, design, and other workplace services to deliver exceptional value and quality.
Lead cross-functional planning with IT, Finance, Security, and People & Talent for new office builds, workplace initiatives, and regional expansion.
Own internal workplace communications, helping employees understand and make the most of our spaces, programs, and ways of working.
Create memorable in-office experiences and serve on the Culture Committee to develop programs that engage, inspire, and connect employees across the region.
Who you are
We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
8+ years in a people-focused role such as workplace experience, employee engagement, office management, facilities, or hospitality events management.
2+ years of experience managing people, vendors, or cross-functional projects with demonstrated leadership capability.
Proven experience leading office build-outs, renovations, or large-scale workplace projects from concept through completion.
Strong budget management skills with experience overseeing operating and capital expenditure for multi-site operations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across employees at all levels within the organization, including senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with limited supervision, balancing strategic priorities with operational execution.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in a high-growth technology or fintech company where the workplace function scaled alongside rapid headcount growth.
Familiarity with real estate strategy, lease negotiations, and partnering with architects or design firms on ground-up office builds.
Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles, and evolving priorities, with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
Curiosity to learn quickly, adapt fast, and grow through stretch opportunities, with an entrepreneurial mindset and ownership mentality.
