Position Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a UX Manager to lead Applied's India UX team. Applied provides an agency management system and suite of software solutions that help independent insurance brokers in the U.S., Canada, UK, and Ireland better manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, data exchange with carriers, financial accounting, reporting, business processes, and policy and benefits administration. Our passion is making insurance agents into super advisors. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with improving the lives of our users, and building out a team of specialized UX resources that can accelerate that mission.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of specialized UX resources including Research Ops, Design System, and Product Design
- Invest in each your direct reports by fostering an environment of learning, providing individualized coaching and professional development that helps them grow their UX skills, and relentlessly focus on achieving top quality work
- Understand, prioritize, and assign incoming work to team members
- Create and manage project plans to provide visibility into UX workstreams
- Execute our UX process using our best practices and known methods; anticipate problems; and proactively engage cross-functional teams
- Accurately estimate team's capacity, prioritize effectively, and deliver on commitments
- Take proactive leadership on projects, driving the triple-diamond process of problem discovery, solution design, and build & go-to-market support
- Own mistakes & learn from them
- Develop a strong understanding of our user's experience through our suite of products and Applied's business goals and strategy, so that your depth of business and product knowledge makes you a trusted, knowledgeable key player
- Represent UX, share updates, and gain buy-in and support from various departments of the company (development, product management, sales, marketing, customer experience, etc.)
- Build trust with PM and other stakeholders by understanding their needs and delivering results consistently and reliably
- Collaborate with our dedicated Design System UX engineers on our Applied & EZLynx Design Systems by leveraging existing components and proposing improvements to the design system.
We're Excited to Learn More About You
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, Business Management, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in UX, preferably in a B2B software environment
- 3+ years experience managing a UX team
- Proficient in research, design and prototyping tools
- Demonstrated success coaching and developing team members
- Demonstrated success leading a team to successful outcome achievement
- Effective communicator who can articulate design strategy and execution plans to both teams and leadership
