Job Summary:

This role is charged with managing PayPal's credit risk strategy teams, responsible for our US and Canada Pay in 4 products. You will own the development and implementation of our strategies, including eligibility, credit approval, and line assignment decisions. Your teams will be tasked with maintaining reporting and monitoring of approval rates and credit performance. You will work with cross functional teams including legal, compliance, product, marketing, and engineering to ensure our policies are implemented in a proper and timely manner. You will engage with stakeholders across the organization to align our work with PayPal's business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage data science projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Develop and maintain data models, algorithms, and reporting systems to support data analysis and decision-making.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through regular audits and validation processes.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Expected Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Define and manage credit risk strategy proposals, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are consulted and approvals are received.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies, and ensure appropriate monitoring and action plans are in place.
• Identify areas of opportunity aligned with business goals, and drive the credit risk roadmap to responsibly grow our Pi4 business
• Maintain projections for TPV and credit losses. Provide updates to leadership on key initiatives.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
