Manager, Technical Pre-Sales

Purpose of the role:

Pre-sales engineers in the Amadeus Network Planning team are responsible for identifying customer’s needs and requirements and then providing the technical capability of Amadeus Network Planning team to solve them. Pre-sales engineers are an essential part of the pre-sales cycle, as they provide a deeper level of technical/product expertise. In the particular case of Network Planning, sales engineers play an active part in the sales process including supporting opportunity identification, completing RFPs, convincing the customer to choose Amadeus (via demos, benchmarks, etc.), and supporting the negotiation / contracting process.

Main responsibilities:

Technical validation:

  • Understand customer technical needs and requirements

  • Proactively scope the technical solution required to address customer requirements

  • Assess customers’ met and unmet needs

  • Recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the company.

Technical integration:

  • Leverage deep product knowledge to drive customization and integration of new applications

  • Troubleshoot functional/integration issues

  • Define technical specifications for new software

  • Assesses the performance of new software applications

  • Identify potential product/process improvement areas.

Demo delivery:

  • Coordinate with Sales team on demo timings

  • Build and deliver advanced custom demos

  • Create the proof of concepts and pilots

  • Configure software to meet customer needs

Internal communication and alignment:

  • Coordinate with internal sales team to align solution design with customers’ business requirements

  • Ensure alignment with Solution expert on what the customer needs

  • Alert Solution Experts and Account Manager of potential technology and integration risks to product installation

  • Provides guidance to non-technical staff on how to use new applications effectively

About the ideal candidate:

  •  Master’s degree in related field (MBA, Operations Research, Engineering, Statistics / Data Science, Economics).

  • At least 5 years in relevant roles relating to airline network planning. Examples include direct experience of performing network planning at airlines, related consulting to airlines, or related experiences with IT providers supporting network planning. Specific roles in these areas also include sales, consulting, delivery, and product management. International experience in the IT sector also highly valued.

  • Fluent in English. Other languages (Arabic, French, Spanish) are an asset.
