Job Summary
The Manager, System Economics & Competitive Intelligence for the Japan & South Korea Operating Unit is responsible for integrating the analysis of system economics, competitive dynamics, and market performance to inform strategic decision‑making, identifying risks, opportunities.
Focus, Scope, & Impact:
Partner with Performance Management and Business Insights managers to run the analysis of macro-economic trends (e.g., GDP, inflation, FX, consumer confidence, demographics, regulation) and assess implications for system performance in Japan and South Korea.
Monitor and interpret industry and beverage market trends, including category growth, channel shifts, changing consumption occasions, and customer dynamics.
Lead competitive intelligence, including monitoring competitor strategies, pricing actions, promotions, innovation, and route-to-market shifts.
Synthesize internal and external data to assess competitive threats and opportunities.
Own and lead Industry OI pool calculation for Japan & South Korea, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
Partner with Franchise Finance teams to consolidate and benchmark the OU System view, identify and track system risks and opportunities.
KEY SUCCESS PARAMETERS
Knowledge & Experience
More than 5 years' experience in financial planning or commercial finance
Ability to work in a diverse cultural environment as a highly effective communicator and influencer at all levels with the ability to communicate complex situations in simple ways
Experience in managing bottling relations
Profound understanding of existing business models and competitive dynamics
Work Focus
Role model the “Leadership in the Network” definition
Provide holistic understanding of bottlers and competitors business performance inside the OU.
Strategic thinking on business model optimization across all OU bottlers and regions.
Responsible for development, data integrity and reliability of System Economics tools and projection models
Communication Focus
This role is responsible for partnering internally as well as externally to effectively manage System Economics and Competitive Analysis, as well as to build alignment on key initiatives and metrics, with a focus on communication to:
