The Manager, Strategic Communications supports the development and execution of integrated communications strategies, with a strong focus on public relations, media engagement, and content development.
This role works closely with senior stakeholders to deliver impactful communications that enhance reputation, support business priorities and strengthen employee engagement.
Responsibilities
1.Corporate Communications & Media Relations
- Draft press releases, media pitches, media briefs, and announcements
- Manage day-to-day media relations, responding to queries and coordinating interviews
- Develop and manage relationships with journalists and media contacts
- Support execution of key corporate activities, media events, announcements, and campaigns
2. Content Development & Storytelling
- Own and shape the communication strategy for the assigned business units, ensuring alignment with the organisational reputational and business priorities.
- Develop content across internal and external channels (intranet, newsletters, social media, speeches, reports)
- Translate business priorities into clear, engaging, and audience-relevant narratives
- Ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice
3. Integrated Communications Campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Marketing, Business Units) to develop and implement campaigns
- Support multi-channel communications, including digital and social amplification
- Ensure alignment across internal and external messaging
4. Executive Communications
- Advise senior leaders on communications approaches, messaging and industry engagements
- Propose and identify speaking and thought leadership initiatives
5. Internal Communications & Change Management
- Develop and execute internal communications that support employee engagement and organisational change
- Partner with HR and leadership to cascade key messages effectively
- Support culture-building and transformation initiatives
6. Measurement & Reporting
- Track and analyse key performance metrics (media coverage, engagement, reach)
- Support regular reviews and assessments of communications effectiveness
- Provide insights and recommendations that influence communication strategies and decision-making by senior stakeholders
7. Crisis & Issues Support
- Support communication responses for complex and sensitive issues;
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information
Requirements
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or a related discipline
- 6–10 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications or journalism
- Experience in media relations, content creation, and stakeholder engagement
- Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries will be an added advantage
