GEICO is seeking an innovative Manager, Experiential & Sports Marketing to join our Integrated Marketing & Media team. This individual will lead the strategy, planning, and activation of GEICO’s vast sports sponsorships and experiential marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in building and transforming a brand’s go-to-market sports strategy in a matrixed environment that operates at a rapid pace. Critical cross-functional partners in this role include Marketing Insights & Analytics, Marketing Operations, Brand Management, Creative, Corporate Communications, CRM, Influencer Marketing, and Paid Media. Experience partnering with or working within a sports marketing agency is required.
Our department’s hybrid model is 3 days in the office per week, with flexibility. Corporate offices are in Chevy Chase, MD (greater DC); Manhattan, NY; Chicago, IL
This role reports into the Sr. Manager, Sports & Experiential Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee sports marketing programming, from brief to concept to execution, effectively managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless deliver of activation
Steer the development, implementation, and execution of GEICO’s experiential marketing strategy, inclusive of: lead generation approach, measurement framework design, data ingestion, and consumers’ event journey
Meticulously design and execute every customer journey touchpoint tethered to the partnership in-line with business objectives and overall Masterbrand compliance
Bring our tentpole sponsorships to life in innovative and disruptive ways, reshaping consumers’ expectations of GEICO and insurance as a whole
Oversee branded content partnerships across the sports ecosystem, inclusive of partnership identification, ideation, production support, and integration and amplification into paid/owned/earned media channels
Redesign GEICO’s local sponsorship framework – accounting for state-by-state growth objectives, business fluidity, segmentation, and pull-through from national partnerships
Support the development of a multi-year sponsorship roadmap and portfolio strategy that drives affinity and acquisition for GEICO’s multiple lines of business
Serve as a liaison between Sports Marketing and Marketing Analytics, evolving GEICO’s deal valuation practice, measurement frameworks, and 1-3 year sports learning agenda
Serve as a sports evangelist – helping to educate all facets of the organization on sports strategies, audiences, trends, tactics, and results
Dive deep into the performance of sports marketing and sports media, identifying trends, wins, optimizations, while regularly reporting on KPIs to internal stakeholders/leadership
Key Qualifications:
7+ years of experience across a combination of sports and experiential marketing – expertise across both traditional and non-traditional sports and event partnerships, with the ability to activate at both the local and national levels
Proven record of developing and executing successful, fully integrated large-scale experiences with significant market and consumer impact while staying on-time and on-budget
Experience managing and partnering with multiple agencies across sports, experiential, media, and creative
Ability to operationalize GEICO’s sports and event marketing practice – redesigning more efficient processes, workflows, and communications
A detail-oriented individual with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with competing deadlines
Outstanding judgement – ability to know when to escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner; strong desire to creatively problem solve; operates with a tense of personal and team accountability
Thrives in ambiguity and a fast-based marketing environment – previous positions in transformational organizations a plus
Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret and uncover insights from performance that will drive impact to the GEICO brand and consumer consideration
Requires travel (25% of time) including occasional weekend travel and off hours projects

Annual Salary
$104,550.00 - $172,200.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
